Europcar London Kingston Upon Thames

If you want it be treated like a POS, use Europcar.The staff at this branch were OK but were initially reluctant to help. They eventually sorted out my issue.The staff on the customer helpline were awful. I called 3 times. None of them helped me and all told me something different.Never again.

Avoid at all cost! I rented a car for 24 hours in this place and after parking it in the street it got a scratch (not a bump, see the picture). I can understand that I need to compensate for that, but they are asking me £901! I guess that is the policy of Europcar so I would seriously consider other alternatives before.To the owner: please, do not be falsely polite and understanding as I have already contacted Europcar, but I have also received a notification from the lawyers after two unsuccessful attempts to charge my card...

It was fantastic experience with Europcar.. Vehicle provided was very neat and clean.. Staff was polite and helpful.. documentation was minimal..

If i could give zero stars i would! honestly the most disorganised car rental i've ever used, i had the hire booked at 8am, i had to wait 45minutes for my car to be ready for me as it had missed returns the night before. This delayed my journey by 45 mins, i hired the car for 8am as i needed the car by 8:20am which i dont think is too much to ask!I had the hire booked from 8-6pm and i was told when i arrived i had to bring the car back by 4pm or 8am the following day, when booking this was never mentioned and was a massive inconvenience.I had to return the car the next morning and was told i would receive the money the money that was put on hold" and my invoice will be emailed to me. After 4 days with no invoice or my money back i had contacted europcar numerous times i eventually got a portion of the money back with no explanation of where the remainder of the money was and still no invoice

My company booked me an open ended hire and the car that turned up had a lot of scratches and is tiny (which would’ve been fine if the lowest grade had been booked but it hadn’t.) Phoned numerous times to try and swap and now been trying for over 2 weeks. Each time I get a man who tells me how busy he is and that he’ll call back but he never does. Spoke to Sharon on once occasion who was more empathetic and helpful but sadly it seems she isn’t the one that can assist and I’m stuck in a tiny, scratched hire car which now has squeaky breaks and a tyre pressure warning… exhausting.

My hire started yesterday and the first vehicle I hired I had to return immediately as it was pulling to the right when driving and the steering wheel was completely off centre.The collection centre gave me another car, but after driving off I discovered the front tyres are below the legal limit on the wear indicators and therefor the vehicle is illegal to drive in uk roads in its current condition. If stopped, I could get a fine and 3 points on my license. When I say below legal limit, like the tyres are bald with zero mm tread left in places.Pretty unacceptable to be given a car with tyres not up to the bare minimum legal standard for uk roads, let alone being a safety issue in the poor weather we are having.I am unable to return the car to the centre for an exchange and called europcar and complained to customer service on the Friday who assured me the centre manager would call to arrange a resolution. Nothing. Now they are closed over the weekend and I am left with a car that is unsafe and illegal to drive on the road. Monday I returned the car after the rental having driven 21 miles, weather was terrible and didn’t feel ok driving this.Edit: according to Europcar this is totally acceptable and they are fine with sending cars out with this level of wear. You can see that in places the wear indicator is below minimum legal levels and in places bald (front left tyre outer edge, going round roundabouts lots?) But that’s fine according to them.When I dropped the car off I got called a liar about the issue with the first car. Apparently they gave it to another customer afterwards without checking it out, assuming that, and I quote, “I just didn’t like the car much” this is how safety issues arise.Looking at the other reviews there seems to be systematic issues with availability and basic customer service. Avoid this centre if at all possible.

Just thought I’d leave a review in view of the many negative comments here.My experience with Europcar Kingston was actually quite positive. We were upgraded to a larger vehicle at no extra cost and the car provided was brand new and impeccable.The pick up process was smooth and we were allowed to drop it off a bit earlier as we had to get to work early that day. The deposit was released the day after the drop off which was very convenient.The staff is friendly and professional and do not try to oversell you anything you don’t need.I will definitely be using them again next time!

Hired a van for the weekend and it was all made very easy. Quick check in and out. Decent new-ish van, no problems going to Liverpool and back. Price (£70) was a fair bit cheaper than anywhere else in Kingston too. Will use them next time my daughter moves flat!

Most awful service i have ever had. Not with Kingston but with issues after delivery to get my daughter who the car was for. Took two day's in which she could not use it and over two hours of phone calls before we found a very help full lady who put things right. All the male operators we spoke to were lacking in basic training and just put the phone down rather than come up wit a solution. Never again.

Staff very good - excellent.Nowadays cars I have been given are high mileage and old and worn.
