Argos Gainsborough

My first (and last) experience in this store today was bizarre. I went in for a click-and-collect order for a game with a certification age of 12. I didn't have ID on me and the manager outright refused to let me have the game, bearing in mind that I am 29 and certainly do not look younger that 12!Quite a baffling experience really - she kept quoting the 'challenge 25' policy when it even said on the till (she showed me) that the customer must have been born before 2011 to be allowed the order.I left the store out of frustration and decided to come back to try again despite the fact that she was being exceptionally unreasonable. I'm not a rude or confrontational person but this really pushed the limits of my patience. She let me have my order eventually after I managed to pull up a random email on my phone that had my date of birth on it. Just following orders?...

Staff outnumbered customs and staff still not proactively wanting to help. Would order online in future as fast track delivery is normally quite good and have never had issues with the drivers although they normally come from Doncaster to deliver!

Terrible Service. Very few staff. Today we had the Manager on the phone so completely ignored the queue of people with their items ready but happily served fast-track customers (while still on the phone) the minute they arrived....and then attempted to order her member of staff back to the fast-track aisle when she was halfway through backlog of 'normal' customers.

This shop was ok, they got the job done in reasonable time however I think a staff retrain is needed. The staff member that served us at till point was sat drinking blackcurrant squash out of a Strongbow cider pint glass which to me screams unprofessionalism. And the staff member that gave us our items at the collection point had no customer service skills at all. On top of that the whole shop had a foul stench of body odour lingering. Maybe invest in an air freshener system.Over all the products we bought were great however the shop itself definitely has room for improvement.

Only nipped in briefly to have a look through the Argos book,with the intention of buying some worx batteries but unfortunately they don't do them,which is a shame really cos I bought the worx strimmer from Argos so thought they would do the accessories

It may be that I have just been fortunate but despite this branch being small compared to most Argos stores, it has thus far always stocked what I have been after. I have also used this as an eBay collection point and have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. There never seems to be too long of a queue either!

Slow customer service, I knew what I was getting into when I ordered to Gainsborough store instead of Scunthorpe but I thought I would give them another try as it's been a while.But nope just as slow as ever I'll order to Scunthorpe in future they actually seem to have some drive
