Maggie & Rose Café
I was so disappointed by our visit at Maggie and Rose café. It was all so tired looking and run down. The only baked goods to choose from were literally one muffin and one croissant. My hot drink tasted like it was made with dish water. Food and drink were served in takeaway cups/bags even though we were staying in. The staff seemed very unenthusiastic. The space has so much potential, it's a shame no-one seems to invest a little love in it and make it nice. From what I had heard about it previously I always thought it was going to be a really nice place.

There’s 2 parts to Maggie & Rose - a public cafe with a small play area for children and a private members area which also has a cafe, soft play, movie room and much more. The public cafe has quite a limited selection of food and limited seating. It’s great if it’s raining and you need a space to keep a small child contained (from crawling up to 3 I’d say). I took my 11 month old and he had a great time! There’s a small kitchen and a type of rocking horse. Some of the toys look tired and I was on high alert as a child had left bits of cheese everywhere and my little one has a dairy allergy. We tried some food - a £5.50 dairy-free risotto by Poppets that seemed fine, if a little dry. My child refused to eat it. I had a £7.50 tuna cheese melt which came with a salad which would have been nicer had the leaves been washed.Fine for a rainy day, rather than a special trip there.

Tried to order lunch at 11.50 (totally normal time for toddlers to have lunch) and was told it would take half an hour for the sandwich box to arrive. Play area tired and grubby. Not enough seating. Under staffed took an age to get to get to the front of the queue. Given the website and the prices they have for children’s party’s I thought it would be great but utterly underwhelmed and won’t go back.

Poor experience, went in 2 people at main reception (they seemed asleep) let me through a small gate into cafe. Cafe had only 1 young lady working, poor lady completely overrun, not supported at all…waited circa 40 mins for a coffee and baby food (chickpea/beetroot). Coffee nice but cafe is dirty, appreciate hard to keep clean as kids cafe, but mess everywhere, food on floor/countertops, empty cups (given 1 member of staff no surprise). Toys lacking for kids to play with, dirty plastic toys, plastic helicopter. Really surprising given the location of this branch and indeed others. My personal opinion is £8 for a coffee & baby food reasonable, just a shame about the overall experience/cleanliness/lack of service, and in my 1 hour observation ‘laziness’ of those around one young lady who was completely overrun. Ask her yourself and consider a fix as sure could be a great option for parents with a few tweaks.

Unfortunately not a great experience. Poor quality food, overpriced and not as described on the menu. I ordered a quinoa salad with broccoli, halloumi and avocado. The server told me there was no quinoa but I could have salad leaves for £2 less. I agreed, but when it came it was missing the avo and broccoli…just cucumber, pepper, tomato and a couple of slithers of halloumi for £10. And much more expensive than the prices online for the same items- on the menu this salad was £12ish. Online it says it’s £7.50. The little play area was dirty with few toys and some of those that were there were broken. I had high hopes but won’t back. The waitress was friendly but seemed over worked and could have done with some help.

Really bad place! They just have 3 options for breakfast that you can only order at 11. It took them almost an hour to bring one of the breakfast and they were not even delivery in a plate, but in a take away book! Coffee quality could be better. Some toys for the kids where not in the best condition

Great café with an interesting play area. My 2 year old daughter enjoyed it a lot and we will definitely go back if in the area :)

Waited almost 30 minutes for one coffee, no explanation or apology. I understand if you’re understaffed as not the waitresses fault but at least let the customer know there will be a long wait. Just kept taking more orders. Looks like they have staffing issues judging by the other reviews

Went in and ordered a children's meal, and a croissant. 30mins later I get the croissant, the lady at the till told me I hadn't ordered anything else. Luckily I had the receipt and could show her. Another 20 minutes later I got the sandwiches for my son.The cafe was dead, in the whole time we where there, we were the only customers. So they cannot say they where rushed.
