Absolutely lovely staff members, however do wish they would advocate more for other patrons in the establishment. A 0 tolerance policy would go amazingly not only towards staff but to help protect other customers also. I've always felt welcome in this pub as me and my family have used it quite a lot over the span of my life and their own. However, it doesn't have that same friendly atmosphere anymore, unfortunately it's the few patrons in there that let this down. Because they are regulars they believe their word is law compared to the actual employees. From Making unnecessary comments to strangers to creating trouble towards customers who are not the usual regulars brings forward an unwelcoming atmosphere to this lovely classic pub. It's a real shame and I don't wish to leave such a tainting review however it doesn't feel right compared to what this place used to run like.EDIT : This Is about The Old Cross, nothing to do with the Crosswells and quite frankly it's shameful you attempt to slander another business rather than hold yourselves accountable, sorry your customers accountable**. You've literally copied and pasted this reply to go along with a different review that I noticed before typing this one. Also how can you check for cctv when 1. My profile picture was from 2 years ago and 2. I didn't mention which date I was in your establishment. Quite clearly just another automated response that blames another business rather than being professional.

Amazingly busy. Range of drinks offers. Karaoke. Good atmosphere. Went there to play bowls. The green is on the small side and the surrounds quite cramped, but it was a well kept and interesting green to play.

*** Further editPub is a joke and clearly the owners are too... absolutely embarrassing! Will be hitting social media now!*** Edit in response to reply from The Old Cross -No I was not in The Crosswells - as a woman who was brought up in Langley, I can clearly tell which pub is The Old Cross and The Crosswells.Google will not remove my review as my review is accurate and honest - and I tried to be polite however the reply I have received has just concreted that this pub is not for myself, family or friends.I strongly recommend you either stop being dishonest in an attempt to protect the reputation of the pub - or check that your CCTV is actually working. Absolutely disgraceful. My stars have now been reduced to a 2 from a 4 ***Haven't visited this pub in years since I was a little girl.I chose to visit on the 22nd of October in the afternoon as I was in need of a quick drink, to use the toilet and have a vape outside on the bench as I was in a lot of pain. The service from the staff member who served me was good. I asked about the whiskey that was available, and he went through them. I asked about Family toilets and I was informed that there wasn't any - so as I had my pushchair with me, I was unable to use the toilet. I also enquired about the vapes that were available and the staff member was helpful with that too.Whilst the staff member used a different machine for the vape purchase, I went over to the card machine at the end of the bar to pay for my drink. I said to the customer who was leaning up the bar that I needed to use the card machine and he let me through.I then returned to pay for my vape, however the staff member was having technical difficulties so I chose to leave the vape and returned it, thanked him for the drink and said I would sit outside have a vape and return the glass once I was finished. As I was struggling to hold the drink and navigate my pushchair through the door - the customer who was still standing by at the bar decided to make a completely uncalled for and unnecessary remark towards me calling me rude and he also said to me to get a personality.I have no shame in admitting that this awful persons totally uncalled for comments provoked a verbally aggressive response from myself - as I was in complete agony with my Sciatica and although I am a normally smiley happy person I had be gritting my teeth in pain, on top of that I had been fighting suicidal thoughts all morning. This customer should think before he speaks - and in all honesty he's enough to put me off ever stepping foot in this pub again - which is a shame as I have fond memories of this pub from my childhood and teenage years.I work in the industry and if it had been me behind the bar, he would not have been served for the rest of the day.

What a wonderful evening we have had. Called to see if we could overnight stop in the car park with our motor home provided we used the pub and were warmly welcomed. The local people were fantastic and welcoming and we then discovered a crown green bowling club bolted on to the pub. We spent an evening with them watching a league match against the Royal Oak and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Full marks to the Old Cross and their manager. Would fully recommend this place.everyone.
