Roundabout Shetland

Beautiful islands, no-one in Shetland is more than 5 miles from the sea. The spirit of the environment is peaceful, serene and with a calmness never found in a city, the rolling hillocks, lend themselves to the sheep farming the islands are known for, the special character of the place further enhances neighbour relationships, people appear to just get on with each other, spending time chatting about the weather, neighbours, children, events and oh my, how welcoming and hospitable most people are. They seem to know the coming and goings even of various sea faring vessels out beyond the shores and will watch to see if they recognise who is coming or going, the weather and whether it's wise for that person to be where they are, amazing! Driving across the runway at the airport was a little disconcerting, however I imagine people get used to that quickly. Magical place to visit.
