Our visit was not as good as previous visits we've had, the food was disappointing.In case tips are necessary, better quality food, less salt, a drinks menu, as well as compassionate, kind staff is a good place to start.Shout out to Bailey (only reason for 3 stars on service), who was friendly and helpful and kept a smile going even by the end of his shift.Our waitress decided she didn't want to deal with us during the service when she realised there would be a complaint...Thankfully, the view and sunset was outstanding.

Stopped by here for beer and mussels. Both of which were very good. Have been here a few times when in the area for a drink on the decking terrace looking out to the sea. Lovely place to spend a sunny afternoon and sink a few drinks and food.

My partner enjoyed his food - muscles followed by the pork belly. he said it would be 3 stars for him, and not 2. However, I did not find my food enjoyable at all. I started with the nachos which, aside from being very below average initially, I then found a long hair in. I raised this and then i had them replaced and they were still not very good. I had expected that they would be knocked off the bill but they were not). I had the Philly cheese steak for my main which again was very disappointing. The chips it came with were cold and inedible. The sticky toffee pudding was nice but overall it was a pretty poor experience.

Moved to North Devon last year but not been to this venue until now. Have visited 4 times in the past week with husband/visiting friends for coffees, drinks, cake and each time we have all been really impressed. Bar staff are smart, professional and friendly and the prices are so reasonable given the amazing location terrace views. Will definitely return

We have been to The Pier House several times for Sunday lunch and the Carvery is excellent. The indoor and outdoor tables have lovely views over the sea. The staff were friendly and helpful. Booking for Sunday is recommended. All in all, a delightful place.

Good service, good food, good view and good value. Family meal out timed just right that it was quite enough that my small people could enjoy there meal with some noise and this didn’t appear to annoy anyone. Staff as normal friendly and courteous. Food was more then filling and desert finished everyone off. Evening light lit up the dark night and you could make out the waves breaking in the rocks below.

Nice place for our first visit, we were actually having a late afternoon walk when we stumbled on this place, so we decided to give it a try. Service was good and quite friendly food was really nice and in the right portion size. Deserts were just as nice but oh so indulgent. Again, it is very tasty and worth the £8 there was no rush while there nor was there any presure in paying until your ready. I would go here again next time in the area.

My daughter and I had a lovely carvery here yesterday. So nice not to have to wait for the vegetarian option. Were given a window table with sea view which made our visit even better. Service and atmosphere all good

Sitting on the top terrace on a lovely sunny day, looking out to sea with a drink and a meal.Fish and chips were delicious.Staff very friendly.Lots of seating, inside and out.Lovely view.Amusements on the ground floor.Restaurant inside looked amazing.Free car park next to the building.This is now one of my favourite pubs. Would definitely recommend, and will return next year when we are back for our holiday.

I don’t usually leave reviews on restaurants but because we’ve spent quite a lot of money on food and drinks I decided to share our experience.Ordering food was a nightmare as the waitress was just looking at us not saying anything so we didn’t know if she actually acknowledged our order or not.The food looked amazing on the plate but that’s where my nice experience came to the end. When I first tried my mac n cheese where wasn’t actually any cheese I knew I should have had chippy instead. The beef was plain, so were the potato rosti.. Would not recommend eating there at all.
