Stayed here, read a few reviews beforehand. While yes, there are trains during the night. Didn’t notice them much. It’s mentioned on the Facebook page. The showers were warm and clean. We had been offered eggs by the owners - which was very nice! Will definitely book here again, as you can tell the owners are people’s people! We were greeted with a smile - and felt at home almost immediately.

Lovely quiet place to stay. Can't go wrong with the price only £30 for 2 people for a 2 night camping stay. Toilet and shower room very clean with toilet roll and hand wash provided. Lovely walks and small village around 10 mins walk away. In the village there was a co-op and Morrisons as Well as cafes and takeaway shops, plenty of pubs too. Site was minimal but it's camping so all you need is grass your tent and somewhere to wash.Trains do pass by quite often but didn't really notice them after a while. Owners are friendly and helpful would defiantly visit again when the weather is warmer.

The site is situated approx. 1 mile from the centre of Chapel, a short walk for all your shopping needs. The train station is just a stones throw away, easy for trains to Buxton or Manchester. Step outside the site and you have numerous wonderful walks, the Peak District is a great place for exploration and adventure.

Lovely spacious campsite with friendly staff and only a few minutes from everything you may need. Will happily stay here again. Only possible downside is being next to a rain line but the trains are too sporadic to mark the site down.

What can I say. I felt blessed to have met this place, thanks again guys. Apart from the beautiful scenery of the mountains, kinder scout, coombs and castle maize, which I climbed... this place really has a lovely vibe.I was walking a charity event July 2017, for Macmillan following the recent death of my nan die to the illness. I had covered over 200 miles walking from the isle of sheppey, kent to clitheroe in Lancashire. I stopped at a local pub and by this point about 10 days into my walk i was fatigued, blistered up. Cold and wet.The guy recommended I stay the night here as I was only down the road and the sight was reputable with picturesque view plus the price was cheap. With intentions to stay and leave the next day, I ended up spending a few days extra and invited my friends to the site.Samantha and your family. I honestly am humbled by the hospitality I received. Your sons helped my realise how beautiful your land is and you not only opened my eyes to the beauty of the world but also educated me. Even with the ferodo, of your town. The blessing of wells. To everyone else needing a place to stay one route your walks or adventures. Do not miss this out. A great experience. Thanks again. I will see you all again...

Great campsite for its location near to the popular peaks around Castleton and the Kinder Scout plateau.I stayed for a long weekend and found the facilities to be in good order. The loos were cleaned regularly at busy times. Good washing up area and showers. It rained a few times during my stay so the grass did get a bit boggy. Also, as others have noted, there is a freight train line that runs near the camp. The trains can be a bother especially when they use their screeching brakes!Don't let that put you off though as this camp is in a great setting near to the village of Chapel en the frith for supplies and pubs!

Arrived without booking. The lovely owner Paul explained we could stay but that the site was a bit of a mess as they hadn't officially opened (although there were 2 other groups camping there). There was no electric and although toilets were open they were not in the best state (but we were told they were doing work on them).Lovely views. Grass needs cutting though as difficult to walk round our van once parked up. Peaceful and quiet. Would visit again in the future

Does as it says on the tin! Campsite is large with grass cut where tents can be pitched. Facilities are good and clean. Site wasn't overly busy when I visited which enabled the kids to play in the field. There are rope swings at the end of the field to keep the kids occupied. Not as noisy as some have put with the railway next to it. Nice walks in the surrounding area. Good site for the price, nearest pub is about 10mins walk away!
