Blagdon Farm
A good place for fishing as the lake is conveniently near to the lodges. You do need a car to go everywhere else. The camping here looked spacious although as we stayed in the lodge next to the public toilets there was banging and flushing happening late at night and early in the morning. Our room had some accessible features but there was some mould in the wet room. The internet was ok but I struggled to upload and download files for work. Also it should be noted that you can only rent the landing net and the pole is not included so bring one to use the 'compulsory' landing net. The people are friendly and the deck was lovely for sitting outside when the weather was nice.

Just spent 3 days here. Very peaceful place. The hosts were very friendly. We learnt how barn owl field was named on our first night - was lovely to watch the wildlife. The kids enjoyed seeing the chickens and the escapee sheep! Fishing was really good - we had a couple of good carp out whilst we were there - our 2 year old caught his first fish! We will be booking to come back again. Only downside was the pool is currently closed and the shower situation was somewhat frustrating as allotted times were deleted twice! However, we appreciate this is due to the current COVID-19 situation and is not the hosts fault.

Place was in a lovely quiet beautiful spot and the fishing lake was very good and plenty of fish for my partner.Lodges were kept to a fairly good standard. The lodge we stayed in had 2 dining room chairs that were squeaky, the front door lock was coming off and the outside furniture has seen better days.Swimming pool not open even though covid-19 says you can now use swimming pools indoors.Generally a nice relaxing stay and lovely place, but in areas needs updating and the long grass cut in front of the lodges, so more open space.

We have stayed in many different self catering cottages/lodges but have never felt the need to cut our holiday short by 5 days before. Upon arrival to the farm it was very unkempt with many bags of rubbish outside the owners accommodation. Unable to locate anyone but eventually a lady stuck her head out of the window and said the key was in the door of the lodge. Lodges are very spacious but in the first lodge we were unable to open the patio door in the bedroom (heatwave ongoing!) and the wetroom door had also jammed and wasn't able to be fixed. We were moved to the lodge next door which was equally as bad;Wetroom - disgusting mould and urine stains on floor. Very strong smell of stale urine in room which could be smelt from kitchen/dining area if door left slightly open. Urine stains around toilet seat. Shower/drain area was black and again stained. Door plinth hanging off.Kitchen area - washing machine leaked all over kitchen floor (luckily I had kitchen roll to mop it up). Clothes horse fell apart as had rusted out. Only 4 pegs in pegbag. No rotary clothes line (we actually went into the empty lodge to take the one there but it fell over as not able to secure it properly). Only 4 small plates (not big enough for main meal). Grease spots on kitchen cupboard doors and thick brown grease under edge of low worktop.Sitting/dining area - settees very tatty/ripped and far too low for someone with mobility issues to get in and up off. No curtain across main door which meant at night time the lodge next door could look into your flat. Unable to lock patio door in lounge. TV very confusing to use. Dining chairs had no arms on them making it nigh on impossible for people with reduced mobility to use.Main double bedroom - has a tiny TV in there but unable to use as no remote. Bed very uncomfortable and too low.Twin bedded room - small light did not work. Carpet very stained. Walls filthy. Beds too low for people with mobility issues.Decked area - very tired and not suitable for people with a frame as due to slats being far apart very unstable to walk on. Outside furniture very tired and ripped. The owners have put bird tables and asked you to feed them if you wish. This, in our opinion, would only add to the prevalent rat problem (bait boxes outside door) which is evident from being close to the lake and with the amount of rubbish lying around. The view to the lake is very peaceful but could do with tiding up (grass area to front of lodges needs mowing).Swimming pool - did not even venture in it as we deduced that if they cannot be able to keep the wetrooms clean they will have little interest in looking after the pool. You can only book the pool online and get charged for this. This could be a lovely venue if it was tidied up and the lodges given some much needed TLC. We have emailed the owners on three occasions but have not heard from them. The website is very misleading as it reports to have disabled facilities yet in reality this is not the case. There was a very rusty hoist left outside of the lodges I suspect that this had not been tested in accordance with LOLER guidelines. To get any equipment you have to order it from them. We actually ordered a wheeled shower chair and a sun lounger neither of which appeared! We left after two nights and are very disappointed with the overall standard of the accommodation. They state it is a working farm but there was no much evidence of this whilst we were there (we are from a farming background) and judging by the state of the place not a lot happens throughout the year! Certainly not worth the £770 for the week. Avoid at all costs.

Lovely lodge in beautiful surroundings. The ideal place if you want to get away from it all. The lake was ideal for fishing or if like me reading! I would definitely love to come back. The owners Bob and Helen a very helpful couple.

The fishing, the peace, the views, the wildlife special. The host welcoming obliging yet your allowed privacy to enjoy your holiday without feeling your every move is being policed. Met some other really friendly guest who shared our experiences

A lovely place and the owners were very friendly! I loved seeing all the animals and great it was dog friendly. Not far from Bude or Widemouth Bay at all, and the local pub in Ashwater and the Rydon Inn were brilliant places to eat! The facilities are quite outdated tho and there's not many of them. Luckily it was quiet whilst we were there. It's got a lot of potential the site.

A beautiful relaxing location. Very spacious pitches (non electric for us) but plenty of room to set up and get organized. The owners were so friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Little shop on site doing sausages, milk and absolutely fabulous cider...made for a very chilled out sunset. Well worth a visit. Makes and excellent base for exploring North Devon and Cornwall.

Cute farm in the middle if no where, perfect for a quiet week/weekend away. Great fishing with a well stocked lake with awesome carp. Rooms are clean and spacious, shops are only 15mins away, and the deliver takeaway too. Great array of wildlife too.
