Dawson's Fishing Tackle

Called in today exactly the same since my last visit, still very helpful and knowledgeable, help out and shop local prices just as good as the bigger shops and great secondhand bargains as well.

This must be the best fishing tackle shop in Sheffield. It’s been in Holme Lane for over a hundred years, and now run by the fourth generation expert/ fisherman Mick Dawson.They offer both unrivalled knowledge and friendly service, which I’ve experienced myself for over forty years!The shop is like an Aladdin’s cave full of everything all anglers need.I’ve taken damaged rods in there too and always been impressed with the quality of the repair.Their bait is always fresh and definitely worth the trip for.They might not offer the range and prices of some of the ‘bigger’ shops and internet sites, but if they don’t have something in stock they’ll always be happy to find the item at a good price for you.Definitely worth a visit...you won’t be disappointed.

Hand on heart, this is one of the most helpful and friendliest shops I have ever used. I've been going here for many many years and nothing is too much trouble for them. A true family run business, they give you far more than the online shops can offer giving you that personal shopping experience, with advice on fishing, bait, tackle, places that are fishing well, etc. They have mended rods and poles for us, and my lad even did a work experience there aged 14, 15 ? He's now 30 ! And we are still using Dawson's.Up against online shopping for years now I even find they are very competitive on price. I hope they continue to hold their own, and are giving great service for many more years to come .

Probably the oldest established tackle shop in Sheffield, definitely the most experienced. Always good advice on hand, be it where or how to fish. I've used this shop since the mid 60s when I only had pennies to spend and was always given good sound advice and offered bait or tackle to suit my budget. My kids have shopped here and now my grandkids. Unusually these days they carry sea, fly and course fishing gear. I can't recommend it enough, be you novice or expert.

This place has been here longer than I have! Always helpful and nice to chat too. Brilliant little tackle shop.
