Looked after our cat extremely well, explained tests that were necessary and what the problem/problems might be.Visited again today and went through the results of tests. Have to go again in 3 weeks for follow up appointment. Would recommend to friends and family.

Extremely sensitive treatment of my dog as well as ourselves on this sad occasion. Not rushed: vet Emily took her timecwith us. Extremely impressed and would highly recommend.

Fantastic local friendly vets service we have used to take injured wildlife

I have only praise and thanks for Emily and the team at Forge Veterinary Practice.My cat ‘CatBoy’ became quite poorly over a short space of time and after seeing an emergency vet elsewhere I was unhappy with his diagnosis as he wasn’t getting better.The Forge Vets booked him in quickly and easily and we arrived to ‘Aunt’ Emily the vet waiting for us. She was kind, compassionate and informative throughout the whole process. Even though our little boy had to be PTS they were courteous and thoughtful and even sent a sympathy card in the post.I will be ever grateful to them for being so kind to my special boy and understanding!I would recommend the practice to anyone looking for an understanding, friendly and compassionate service. I will definitely be using them again if we ever decide to rescue another animal.Thank you Emily and the team!

EDIT: One of our cats, Buster somehow broke three toe bones in one paw. He has been well looked after having had several trips to the vet recently. Unfortunately due to Covid we are unable to attend his appointments with him and reassure him. He has made a good impression on the vets who now know him well. He has had X-rays and several pressure bandage changes over the last four weeks. We always want him back as soon as possible as we love and miss him and he is very clingy probably even more so with the injury. We are kept well informed and told as soon as we can collect him. One of the vets even travelled in on his day off to examine Buster's X-ray to see how his paw was healing and to decide whether an operation to pin the bones was necessary, he said that he was healing well and an operation was unnecessary at that time.Excellent care and attention to our four cats, they don't like travelling to our previous vets. The Forge is local and we have every confidence that our cats' wellbeing is their first priority

My son did work experience at this practice, working with Emily. He was totally blown away by the experience and the staff he worked along side. It gave him a slightly different insight into the practice, and it was certainly positive. In particular the passion the staff had towards caring for each and every animal, the professionalism in their work and interestingly, the consideration given towards the pet owners feelings.He came away with nothing but positives. As a parent I was also impressed with how they treated and looked after my son. Great experience all round and judging from my sons experience and observations I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the practice.A definite 5 star!

My cat had been unwell for a couple of days, but deteriorated very rapidly overnight. I tried to call first thing but lines were busy so I decided to take him in without any appointment. A brief explanation to the receptionists and Big Bob was immediately seen by vet Beate. Bob needed in patient treatment and I collected him later that day.The support Bob received was superb. Straight to consultation; no question about not having an appointment. Wonderful help from all the staff.I have absolutely no qualms about taking any pet to this wonderful practice. Refused to issue antibiotics and painkiller for an ongoing issue. Money orientated, not welfare driven. Consultation is unnecessary when the issue is ongoing. Refused issue as 1 day over the 1month mark and ‘hands are tied’ - currently saving for the operation he needs on his teeth and unable to afford an unnecessary consult so now left with no choice but to try somewhere more concerned with my animals welfare than lining their pockets.

My mum took my dog here several years ago as he tore his dewclaw whilst I was on holiday. On the return visit for a check up I was so impressed with the caring and professional attitude and service, that we changed vets and have been coming here ever since. My English Bull hasn't been a very well boy, so he is a frequent visitor. We cannot thank Nigel and the rest of the team for their kindness and sincerity. I trust the whole team implicitly
