Lots of promises, but not much deliveredFirstly I want to point out that despite what their website says roofinginsheffield in its current form has only been about since Sept 2012 as I had to find out the hard way. I had work done by this company in January and May 2012 – a bay roof and fixing a leak around my chimney. Unfortunately leaks persisted in both places. At first I contacted the roofer who did the work. He promised to come out every week between June and August 2012, but by Sept 2012 I gave up and wrote a formal complaint to the company. They were at first very helpful, promising to fix the problem however, making it very clear that it was only out of goodwill as they were now a different company and had no obligation to me as a customer. I again started to get promises that workers will come out this week, or next week. This continued until December 2012 without anyone visiting my property. When it did finally get assessed at the end of December 2012 it was agreed that work was needed. Again almost weekly promises followed. Some work was done in February 2013, however, some leaking around the chimney persisted and my bay roof was so bad that water started to pool on the ceiling and drip down the walls. Eventually someone did come to ‘fix’ the bay in April 2013. This was done by smearing a tin of ‘emergency roof repair’ over it, the type you can get at B&Q. It was left in an extremely messy state. I have asked for them to come back to fix it and again have had promises that it will definitely get done. Thankfully I did not pay for any of this ‘work’, however, it left me very distressed as my rooms gradually deteriorated and I kept on thinking they were about to fix it. All through this I had endless correspondence with the proprietor, who refused to sign his/her name on any of the emails even when I asked for it and who spent a lot of time telling me I was lucky to be getting anything. If this is the service you want – hire them.
