This place could be so much better than it is currently. I’m adding a public review because I complained via e-mail but received no response (sadly not a first for the Mitre).First off is the exorbitant cost: £7.50 for a toasted sandwich is very steep (and take a look at the photo below for the most pathetic ‘rocket with salsa verde’ on the side!!).Next is the service - twenty minutes for toasted sandwiches is quite a long time, but tolerable if they can get the order right (they didn’t). I ordered two cheese toasties, one for each of my children, and then two ham sandwiches arrived?! Even when correcting the error, each child ended up with half a cheese toastie and half a ham toastie. Luckily neither is vegetarian, although still quite a random outcome.It’s clearly a one-time visit tourist trap - as a local I’m not sure it’ll be a regular spot.

The best cafe in Hampton Court!! Coffee was a 10/10, the warm cinnamon bun was even better and the staff were so so so kind. Can't recommend this enough. Amazing service and amazing food!! Steve was amazing!!!

Had a lovely cheese/ham toastie, coffee and slice of the cinnamon bun which were all delicious! The coffee was strong which makes a change from other places! The cinnamon bun slice was out of this world and they warmed it up!! Kim even popped next door and grabbed me some mustard for the toasties which was honestly so lovely! Great service goes such a long way! We will be back!!

I visited here on a Sunday afternoon for a coffee and cake.I expected it to be busy as the sun was shining, but….Not having to wait 30 minutes in a queue for a couple of coffees and cakes.It seemed the lady serving was also having to go and make soup in the kitchen and deal with toasting panini’s so everybody was kept waiting.I don’t think it would have been that bad if there was an apology for the wait, a friendly greeting or she didn’t think it was more important to send a message on her phone when it came to my turn to be served, or to then moan to her colleague what an awful day it had been and couldn’t wait to have their Gin on finishing.The cakes were very overpriced for what they were and the small size.Needless to say I will not be going back again.Such a shame as a great location but a lot needs improving.

I love this place and have been using it 3-4 times a week since October 23, however the chef needs to expand his soup repertoire. Curried lentil soup on the daily menu for almost 4 weeks……

Highly recommended!Facing directly to Hampton Court palace this is a wonderful place to grab a quick snack, brunch or a warm beverage with something sweet to match.I had a Beef brisket roll served with their home made coleslaw and sweet BBQ sauce.The staff are very welcoming and provide a great professional service in a warm and relaxed environment.

Spent a few hours working from here and it was lovely! I could plug my laptop in and sit and watch the world go by. Easy location to get to. The staff and service were fantastic! The food and coffee was superb. Will definitely come back

Really really dissapointing. After this last visit I doubt I'll be back (which is annoying as it's so close to work!). Since Coppernoise opened I never felt very welcomed.. it was always a bit maybe I'm standing in the wrong place to be greeted?"..never really got a friendly Hello/welcome/what can we do for you?... I guess I got used to it!?...It's not the cheapest place (I'm sure even the staff would agree)
