Had a lovely walk on this scenic shingle beach which nestles between red sandstone headlands. As with other beaches on this stretch of coast, the pebbles and larger rocks are multi-coloured and beautiful to look at. There are kayaks, surfboards and paddleboards for hire, plus instruction on how to use them. Further west the beach becomes sandier, ideal for paddling and for children to build sandcastles, and there are also beach huts. The prom, also a great place to enjoy a leisurely stroll, has some public toilets and a couple of ice-cream parlours, and there are lots of eateries and shops in town.

Really quite a beautiful beach. Not necessarily the kind where you would want to go as a family as it is a rocky beach. But it's wonderful for walks across the front.

Lovely setting, red cliffs and lovely walks along the top with good coastal paths, great place for photos and listening to the sea, great spots along pier for eating as well. Boat trips are available and nice sound of the sea on the pebbled beaches, Good place for collecting stones

It was a very enjoyable day spent exploring here. A dog friendly beach at the far end, great food from Fort Cafe, amazing ice cream from a kiosk along the sea-front and the park is very well maintained and the perfect place for a cuppa before returning to the car for the trip home.

You can't beat a day at Sidmouth beach. Shallow sea and so safe for children, mixed beach of pebbles and sand, great promenade, shops, cafes, ice cream. Even has public toilets that are free and cleaned. Very busy early Aug during Folk festival but a joy to be part of. Buskers on the prom are plentiful

Sidmouth Beach
A personal favourite. The beach is mainly shingle with a sandy area at the far end. It is an easy walk along the prom and an interesting place for people watching.

Lovely in all weathers. Modest size at high tide with pebbles. Large with flat sand at low tide. Decent for swimming. Great view of beach from Connaught Gardens by Jacobs Ladder from either end of the garden promenade.
