Dundee Dramatic Society

I was warmly welcomed into the Dundee Dramatic Society just over a year ago. It is an amazing building, a wonderfully charming theatre and the fact they perform 4 shows a year was a bonus. I've found that they are always looking for motivated people to join whether you wish to be on stage, backstage, or front of house. I have now had the opportunity to try my hand at lighting, props and stage management and they are very supportive of my wish to direct at some point in the future, encouraging me to gain experience by taking on a variety of backstage roles and shadow current directors. The people I have met are a unique mix of theatre lovers who all want the best for Dundee Dramatic Society and the patrons of the Little Theatre and I love being a part of this 'theatrical family' : )

A hidden gem that I must confess I'd forgotten all about. Will be a regular visitor now though.

lack of knowledge of theatrical practice, performance culture or general etiquette, with no willingness to learn or develop making each performance interchangeable, stale and under performed. Genuine talent phased out in a bullying, hierarchy environment that cares more about itself and money than it's audience or creativity. Poor reputation within the community that they make no effort to develop or contribute to, yet have the expectation of their money. Prime example of dead theater"."
