Good food but what really elevates this pub to 5 stars is the staff and the warm welcome you receive. Polite and all with a smile on their faces.

Under new ownership so updating my review as I ate here with my family on 05/10/23. Chef clearly knows what he is doing and the food is excellent and imaginative. The staff are very good and have been trained well. It's now well worth a visit

I had the ocean hanging kebab and my guest had the chicken kebab both came with flatbread 2 dips and fries, complimented by a New Zealand sauvignon blanc, very polite and attentive service the bill with an extra 2 glasses of wine came to just under £80.

Lived in the village 20 years. The pubs had its ups and downs and Im glad to say its really on the up. Food was great, fresh, and well prepared, reasonably priced with no issues. Tuna was fresh and delicious and the sides were lovely. Great to see the place lively.

Second time in two weeks but so disappointed today.Two weeks ago I ordered the steak and ale pie - it was delicious and filling. I decided to treat myself this afternoon with another visit.I ordered the lasagne. I was so disappointed. The bolognese sauce didn’t contain any passata or tomato (see photos) so it tasted watery and like mince and onions in pasta. The worst food ever.I couldn’t eat it. The coleslaw on the side salad had an acidic bubbly taste and was off.It has put me off returning unless I steer clear of the lasagne

Had lunch today with a friend. We ate front the set lunch menu. The soup was exceptional and as good as homemade. Main courses were lovely my friend had the steak which she said was perfectly cooked. Staff were friendly and attentive, not too busy being Tuesday but still a nice atmosphere. Overall an experience to repeat.

We found this pub by accident! We came on the day it reopened and the food was perfect so good we went back twice! Service was perfect as well
