So sad that Glasgow has a world famous site like this that just doesn’t open. Needs a better solution. Charge a couple of quid to enter and ask for volunteers (plenty of enthusiastic geologists in the city!).

Some of the fossilized remains of those ancient forests can be found in the Fossil Grove which is located within Glasgow’s Victoria Park (located in the Whiteinch area of the city).No wait required as this is part of the public park, no entrance fee either. Can easily spend about an hour here or more.

Seems this place is permanently closed, was not working at stated working hours and looks like the building is in decay. Was sorry to see that because I learned about this place while majoring geology...

I've been before and it's great! Although currently it's only open 3rd Sunday of the month 12-4pm, April to October 2022 so couldn't get in today!

Its a fantastic location it should be promoted more and open 7 days a week. Instead its only open Sat - Sunday. its been getting run down since the computer was damaged and parks dept have not repaired the computer generated program.Its still worth a visit but could be better improved what needs is gift shop and more care from local city council to promote this unique historical site. added couple images let you see.

Google opening times not accurate. Its only open one Sunday a month, over the summer now. Fantastic place, but check website before travelling!

Tried to visit on Sunday August 1st 2021 when it should have been opened but it was shut. Oh well Victoria Park is still nice but came specifically to see the fossils.

Love this place, tucked away in Victoria Park. My parents brought me here every Sunday afternoon as a child and it holds many special memories for me. I remember when the pond was filled with goldfish and the size of them was staggering. They were enormous. It's our own Jurassic Park and it's brilliant.
