Our tour with Ryan was perfect. Months before our tour, I approached Ryan with the idea to propose to my then-girlfriend at a scenic viewpoint along the tour. Ryan was a great partner in planning this engagement surprise, in addition to being a knowledgeable tour guide and skilled photographer. My fiance (she said yes!) and I loved learning the history of the highlands from Ryan and his stunning photos captured our special day perfectly. Highly recommend!

In celebration of my daughter’s university graduation, my daughter, niece, mother and I had an amazing 4-day tour with Ryan across the highlands and into the Isle of Skye! Leading up to the trip, Ryan was super easy to communicate with and went above and beyond to plan a route that accommodated to the lack of daylight hours as we were traveling in December. Ryan was extremely friendly and kept us very entertained during the entire trip, sharing personal stories as well as endless facts and history about the areas and viewpoints we stopped at. His talent of professional level photography was an amazing plus. His expertise made sure every stop was very accommodating to our different levels of walking and hiking abilities. Ryan was a delight to spend a day tour with. He was more than accommodating, and made our trip so special. The tour had many stops to get beautiful photos and take in scenery, while Ryan told us stories and history about our stops. He was definitely a great host, and was willing to customize our outing for us. Could not recommend Sgurr Tours enough.

This was the most spectacular tour I’ve ever taken. I’m a solo female traveler and was a little weary about booking a private tour in the beginning. Ryan put me at ease immediately with his quick communication and attention to detail. His response times to email alone were noteworthy, I’ve never experienced customer service like it. This was a tour I booked for my 30th birthday and Ryan went all out. He picked me up straight from my hotel, greeted me with a hug and a warm welcome and had a gift bag waiting for me in the van. The transportation was immaculate. Recently cleaned, smelled delightful, wifi on board and snacks and drinks included. Ryan personalized the tour to exactly the places I wanted to see and we spent 12h seeing the most gorgeous sights, chatting about the history of the area, his life and mine. I would highly recommend Ryan to anyone coming to Edinburgh or Inverness. I wouldn’t dream of sending my family or clients as a travel agent to anyone else.

Booking a tour with Ryan was the best part of our trip. From start to finish, he was professional and accommodating, taking us to as many sights as we could fit into our schedule, going above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our dream trip visiting Skye. My husband and I were captivated by his many tales of the Highlands, all with in-depth knowledge of the area, people, and even the Gaelic language! The day was perfect start to finish! Being a solo traveler, I felt in capable hands. An authentic Scotsman, even showed up a kilt. The customized experience was exactly what I wanted. Ryan was informative and engaging. It was as if I was spending the day with a lifelong friend. One of the many advantages to hiring a private tour was being able to stop off for photo’s that felt scenic and personalized to me. Ryan, being a professional photographer, took photographs for me, allowing me to just take in the atmosphere. I can not recommend highly enough. I will hire again for a multi-day trip! Superb!!

Let me start off by saying I was ready to rate Sgurr tours 5 stars before even taking the tour. Ryan is extremely prompt and detailed with email responses, and made planning our two days of tours with him an easy experience. I had a general idea of places to see throughout Skye and the Glencoe area, and Ryan made sure to include those in the itinerary as well as adding on locations we had no idea about-but were so glad to have seen!We did the Isle of Skye day tour, and it was the most beautiful 11 hours of my life. During the tour Ryan provided us with the history of the areas we drove by which added highly to the experience. The day is timed and planned perfectly, he has it down to a science! We truly felt we saw everything skye had to offer in the comfort of his well kept and roomy Mercedes-Benz van.I wasn’t sure if Ryan could top himself for how well day 1 went, but day 2 just got better! It was jam packed with beautiful locations. Glenfinnan viaduct to see the Harry Potter train drive by, fort William, Loch Ness, and the incredible Glencoe area. Ryan took us to all of the scenic viewpoints where we could stop to take in the jaw dropping landscapes and grab some pictures. He also brought along his professional camera and took incredible pictures for us that will be treasured!I cannot recommend this company more. By the end of the two days we felt like we had made a new friend, and seen so much of the beauty that the highlands has to offer. Ryan is incredible with conversation and stories and the hours spent driving around the highlands were filled with history, laughs, incredible views, and good company (and even some whisky!) Ryan started this business himself, and the pride/attention to detail he puts in really shines through and makes the customer experience unique and special. Money and time very well spent, you will not regret booking with his business!

We had the most amazing time with Ryan on our tour of the Isle of Skye.Ryan was personable, knowledgeable and super fun. The day went too fast because we enjoyed ourselves so much.We saw amazing sites and learned a lot.Ryan was so patient with all our questions and answered them with enthusiasm.We felt like we had known Ryan forever, like a dear friend.We highly suggest taking a tour with him. Cannot recommend Ryan and Sgùrr Tours highly enough. I am not a tour person and was a bit apprehensive booking; and I am so thankful for my good decision! I learned so much past and recent history, got to practice a wee bit of Gaelic, was able to focus on enjoying the scenery because I wasn’t the one driving, and have some epic photos (which were easy to have printed and will be Christmas presents for my family). Keeping someone entertained for 12 hours (especially a solo traveler like me) is no easy task and Ryan had me enthralled with all the info and good humor shared.If you want a private tour (you do… I saw those bus tours from Inverness - yikes) reach out to Ryan. He will make it a custom tour to your liking, and knows great places to stop for food and drink while you’re exploring. Looking forward to booking with him again in the spring for another tour of Skye (there’s so much to see) or a neighboring island.
