It's a free entry museum. This museum display the history of Cardiff and it has more than 3,000 objects displayed inside. It's kids friendly museum too!

Although informative the museum gives an impression of skimming over the city's history, and is very small with just a few exhibits from each era the collection covers. Even taking in everything will give you change out of an hour. That said, what they do have is well layed out and accessible.A visit is worth it for the magnificent tiled corridor, however, which has to be one of the city's must see" attractions."

Lots history to be absorbed here but unfortunately the tents and marquees in the quad from a recent concert spoils the view slightly. Probably a great venue for a concert within the walls. At £14 an adult I find that too pricey for the causal viewer, maybe for the history buff that’s acceptable.

An award-winning museum in the heart of the city. The Cardiff museum tells the story of Cardiff through the words and objects of its citizens. The history of Cardiff from the world's first record shop through migration stories and social justice campaigns. There are events for toddlers- look for Dinky Dragons adverts as well as other events. You can also visit the beautiful tiled corridor restored with money from the lottery. The Museum has won many awards since its establishment a little over a decade ago. Sadly the temporary exhibition space was taken away and no cafe but it is fully accessible with accessible toilets. It's free to all. Please enjoy it now as Cardiff city council seem to be planning on closing it. So if it's gone you may not see a museum of Cardiff for a generation.

A nice place holding an interesting and organised exposition. Therefore it’s a big building that could have more possibilities of expositions and creative/educational activities for growing up kids and teenagers.

Very nice little place with lots of local history, from Roman times to today. I especially enjoyed the chat with the historian there, he was very knowledgeable and gave me a few tips on where to go next. I also loved the dolls house showing decor changes over decades, absolutely gorgeous. And the hidden corridor in the back with the original tiles, stunning! And best of all, entry is free!!

We really enjoyed our visit to the Cardiff Story Museum today. It’s great that this is free to visit. It was interesting to learn about Cardiff’s history and the tiled corridor was stunning. There’s some great exhibits and activities for children. The townhouse with the different lit-up rooms, build your own Cardiff and the toy trains downstairs were enjoyed! The staff are friendly and welcoming and gave us an activity sheet we could complete together as we went around. If you’re in town, this is worth a visit.

Small but a very nice museum of Cardiff history. Also, make sure to check out the tiled corridor – absolutely majestic.
