Lockdales

Valuation Day experts took a lot of trouble assessing my items and gave me useful information. I had been afraid they would try to persuade me to part with them for what might have been a low price, but, while they were taking some others' items for cash, there was no pressure at all. I was even advised to use a particular online selling site for one item if I did want to sell it.

Locomotive arrived Friday 8th very well packed and in fine condition. The locomotive actually works. I alway wonder why people who put trains in auction houses are not made to provide proof that the train actually works.

Recently won 4 lots at a recent auction. Items arrived today (12/9/23) but, 2 of the lots were not as described in the item description. Telephoned the company and, the customer service advisor said everything. To say that it was up to the customer. To ask for a condition report. I deal with auction companies on a regular basis. In particular, Sporting Auction companies. And, in their item description. When auctioning lots. They always state if a item is an ex bound volume or/ and with writing on. I will never use the services of this so called auction company again. And, will now apply for a chargeback. Via my Bank's fraud department.

Fairly straight forward auction experience but absolutely terrible flimsy packaging on very expensive item. Contacted Lockdales and their response was lack-lustre to say the least.Buyers beware.Have shared this experience on many Comic Buyers Forums and the disgraceful handling of this antique book has been universally condemned.

Really helpful, communicative too. I bought an item and they offered to meet me at on of their fairs which was helpful and kind, however, timings prevented that so I paid for P+P and that was reasonable and quick. From purchase at auction to delivery of item was just one week which is impressively speedy. Securely packaged and I was so glad delivery was by Royal Mail as it made it easy to track. My first experience of Lockdales auctions and I'll be happy to buy from them again.

I have recently purchased an item via Lockdales auctions via the online salesroom site. The item was recieved within days of settling the account well protected and packaged at a reasonable rate. The staff responded promptly to emails and the items was better than described in the article and picture's so even more pleasing to recieve when i revieved it. I will keep tabs on Lockdales auctions in the future as i felt all charges in addition to the bid were acceptable for services provided and i was able to purchase a sought after item by me for 3/4 of the price i would have had to pay elsewhere for a similar item.

Excellent Auction house, helpful friendly staff, fast & well packaged delivery & the cheapest postage rates going. Refreshing to see when most auction houses charge so much for a similar service. Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next auction.

We needed some help with some items we had inherited. Although Lockdales were unable to help with auctioning our items, Alan looked at all our photos and offered some very helpful advice. Very much appreciated thank you.
