The Golden Retriever
Just had a 10/10 Trio Roast Dinner! All 3 meats were juicy (even the turkey which is rare), Mac and cheese on the side was unreal and the cocktail mini pudding deal finished us off at the end. Enci was our amazing waitress, so friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend!

So disappointing. We have been to this pub many times in the past and it is usually a good experience. This is the first time we have been in a couple of years and it was complete rubbish. We arrived at 4.30 for an early dinner with 2 young children. We waited and waited for everything, we were sat for around half an hour before anyone even took our drink order. We had to chase for absolutely everything sometimes multiple times. When we finally were able to order we were told multiple food and wine items we wished to order weren’t available . Multiple items being unavailable isn’t really unacceptable especially on a Monday which I imagine is the quietest day of the week.What was meant to be a quick bite to eat dragged on for 3 hours of waiting around and moans from 2 hungry children. Not a pleasant experience. The woman behind us didn’t even get her meal until the person she was with had finished hers and that was only because she alerted them to the issue. Completely clueless staff.Worst service I have ever experienced

Popped in this morning for a post parkrun breakfast. Very nice and cosy pub, clean and spacious. Loved the fireplaces and Christmas decorations. The food was delicious and staff were superb. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again!

Despite being busy, we didn't have to wait long for drinks, order taken or the food to be served. Was very impressed with the mini drink and dessert too. The waiter was accommodating and friendly with our guests, the place was clean and nicely decorated for Xmas. Just one niggle, similar items on the standard and Xmas menu but with slight variations. So despite saying festive Camembert ( had mushrooms)., and one standard, we received two standards. All in all, a very nice family meal was had.

Lovely restaurant, great for after a walk at Swinley. The staff were so helpful and kind, bringing water bowls for both dogs. It’s set up in a really lovely dog friendly way. The food was good, steak sandwich and a honey pot desert, the latter definitely for sharing as it was so rich but delicious. Clean and cosy, will be lovely for winter!

My aunt and I visited on a Sunday for a Sunday roast dinner. We had heard mixed reviews in the past but I like to try things for myself before making a review. We were extremely pleased with the food and service that we received. The roast dinners were very tasty and plentiful, also very fresh with seasonal vegetables. Plenty of meat gravy was provided. Each component on the dinner had its own taste and I think herbs were used on the potatoes and honey on the parsnips. We also both ordered the honey pot desert which was delicious and we both ate it all. The only reason iv given one star less for atmosphere is because the area of the restaurant where we was seated was very dark and was only lit by artificial light which we found made us feel claustrophobic so next time will ask to sit in another part. We will definitely be coming back!

This is a great place to dine and the food is excellent. Partner and I had the fish and chip, and I had the signature burger, and they were divine. I honestly have not eaten a burger that good in ages, and the portion of fish was huge. Staff were really friendly, and the open fire was great to be next to . Dog and family friendly and very well presented

The Retriever is an English country pub located on the road Nine Mile Ride in Bracknell. The pub itself is well presented with ample seating inside and out with a closed marquee to the side of the pub. Staff and polite and friendly with the normal lagers on tap. The interior is spacious and relaxing with a nice vibe. The food is okay with a fairly good selection on the week day and Sunday menus. This pub is dog friendly and you’ll find quite a few people bring their four legged friends. Note this place gets very busy so it is best to book a table at least a couple weeks in advance.
