Talybont Reservoir
Talybont Reservoir is the largest stillwater reservoir in the central Brecon Beacons at 318 acres. Talybont-on-Usk is 1.5 miles downstream of the dam. Construction of the current dam started in 1931 by Newport Corporation, and in 1939 the reservoir started supplying Newport with treated water. Wikipedia

Came here on a drizzly day, no one was here and it was amazing how peaceful it was, not much to do but definitely worth a quick pit stop. Very beautiful.

Beautiful views, lots of nice little walks you can go on. I came here when it was ice cold so I would like to return again when the weather is warmer!

Talybont Reservoir
Stunning views, good sized trails, beware the narrow lanes to get to, limited parking but well worth it. Can get fairly busy

A nice breath of fresh air - literally. This is a calm and lovely place to go for a walk. We were staying at YHA at the end and enjoyed our walks here after dinner. A must see place to visit.

We enjoyed the walk, beautiful views and peaceful. Just be aware of narrow roads and parking is not big. We went in the middle of November so it was really tranquil and lovely.

Talybont Reservoir
A few years ago we visited this reservoir when it was full and were recently shocked how low the water was, feeding the people of Newport, South Wales.Beside the dam, it a great place to walk through the trees or cycle around it, viewing the bew bat boxes. You can also walk the Taff's Trail, to Talybont, where you will link up with the canal. Another interesting place to walk and watch the barges negotiating the draw bridge and the tunnel.

Talybont Reservoir
Stunning picture-perfect reservior surrounded by high peaks, trails, woodland and wildlife. At the foot of the Brecon Beacons, so if you don't fancy the big climbs, there are some flat walking and biking trails around the reservoir. The little village of Talybont is 5 minutes drive with bakery, cafe, 2 pubs and all amenities including the village hall which has toilets and showers for £1. There is also a bike hire shop with trails heading back around reservoir.Really inviting place. Perfect for a stop off and relax on the shore of the lake. Very quiet road, so not much noise. Several parking places each end and one in the middle along main road. Surrounded by a few farms and plenty of sheep. No facilities close by, so will need a bush and a flask.
