Years ago, before I had any lessons I was learning guitar using lots of DVDs and youtube videos, then I had my 1st lesson with John and learnt more in just my first lesson than I had ever learnt from all that other stuff. John is a fantastic teacher, lessons are always great fun, I get to learn at my own pace and John actively encourages me to experiment in my preferred styles of music. I would definitely recommend John's lessons to anyone with an interest in music!

When our son decided he wanted to learn the guitar we started to take him to lessons with John. In the four months since then he has come on in leaps and bounds due solely to John's abilities as a teacher. John's patience, perseverance and obvious skill with a guitar has inspired him to not only learn but practice every day as well. He looks forward to showing John his progress every week and always comes away with a sense of accomplishment. Thanks John :)

John is an inspirational guitar teacher and player. John is able to teach all styles and abilities and structures his lessons so as to make them fun and instructional, whether you are keen to take gradings and progress down the more academic route or just to learn to competently play a wide range of music John will adjust his approach to suit your goals and desires. Both of my kids have been taught guitar and bass by John and love their lessons and my own guitar lesson is the highlight of my fortnight. Highly Recommended!

I've been a student of John's, learning bass, for what must be the better part of 5 years. It's incredible how much you can learn each lesson you have with him, in such little time, and yet it doesn't feel studious, it's just plain fun. I always look forward to my bass lesson and I always feel like I'm progressing with both my straight skill of playing my bass but also with musical knowledge in general. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn almost any type of guitar.

John is an excellent guitar teacher & an overall nice guy, he is very helpful & approachable. He has brought my guitar skills to a new level of which I didn't think I had. I made an excellent decision going to John for lessons & enjoy each lesson.

Where to begin! John is not only a great guitarist but also has an in depth technical knowledge of the music. Like many other comments I look forward to my lessons with John which I've been taking for the last four years. My confidence has grown considerably over this period. I love listening to music and always thought it would be wonderful to be able to play the guitar but never considered learning myself till recently. At 53 I finally have some spare time to spend learning and practicing. Apart from playing the recorder as a child, I have no previous musical experience so it was all very alien at first. I have had about 7 lessons so far and from the beginning have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge. Each lesson brings a new milestone to achieve - practice is key! John is an excellent teacher and gets the pace of learning just right. I know that many people teach themselves but I really like the fact I am being taught in the correct way. I highly recommend John’s lessons to anyone looking to learn guitar.

John has been teaching my grandson now for about two years, John is brilliant teacher, he makes the lesson fun and enjoyable. My grandson really looks forward to his lessons, I have watched my graduation son build in confidence while learning the skill of playing the guitar. I have been having guitar lessons with John for a few months now and my playing has progressed more in that time than in years of trying to teach myself to play.
