Penderyn Swansea Copperworks Distillery - Visitor Centre and Shop

Fabulous tour with Michael who was very knowledgeable and made it super interesting. So much goes into the making of the whisky ! Brilliant information about all of the different whiskies and the history of Penderyn. Fantastic tasting bar at the end, really stunning design and the other staff we then met were all absolutely brilliant. Francesca at the bar and Lauren and Mark at the shop - all super lovely and helpful , friendly and a good vibe together . All four of them are credit to the distillery. Well done . Would recommend the tour to anyone . You won’t regret it.

We attended (4 of us) a tour of the Penderyn Distillery on 26th October. A wonderful clean space, welcoming and friendly staff. Our guide knew everything about the Distillery, history of the site and more. We enjoyed the bar area, our tasters, the history of the barrels used in the distillation process and all the special historical whisky made so far. We obviously bought some gifts to return home with from the shop.A visit well worth taking. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this great brand to Swansea on a very historical site.

Went on the Distillery tour today with my husband. Turned out we were the only people for that time slot.The distillery is still being finished at this time, so we got to see them putting the finishing touches on the equipment, prior to the launch in a few weeks.The tour was very informative, not just of the process of making whisky, but also of the history of the land and copper works.Francesca was a fantastic guide, with a huge wealth of knowledge.We throughly enjoyed every second. Especially the tasting at the end!We will definitely be back to do the masterclass once it's all up and operational.Can't recommend it highly enough.

The latest addition to Penderyn Distillery - a new distillery in Swansea in an historic location. Seeing this location sympathetically restored has been a joy. The finished distillery building is moving to anyone who used to play around in the derelict buildings back in the day. The new shop and visitor centre is beautifully finished and shows off the products superbly. The staff are welcoming, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and maintain the tradition which has been established in the Penderyn HQ. Pop in just for a look around, a taste and a chat - it's a great experience and a boon to the area.

We really enjoyed our tour Yesterday its an amazing transformation of the old buildings what vision to have created a tour that includes the Copper works history in Swansea & connects it to the Penderyn Welsh Whiskey history very much appreciated as a Swansea born Penderyn fanOur host/tour guide Lauren was fantastic so knowledgeable & being a local lady very passionate about the Swansea history & being a Whiskey fan shared our passion for PenderynI would definitely recommend this tour if you like excellent Whiskey & if you enjoy the Swansea Copperopilis history it's a huge bonus & including the tasting in a gorgeous upstairs bar area very good value for moneySteve & Lisa

I was very impressed with the tour, staff, tasting area and shop. Very well done and Michael was a superb guide, full of interesting information, fun facts and humour. I’ve always been a fan of Scottish single malts but the Penderyn options are extremely good, fantastic value and already offering some good investments. Highly recommended as a tour, tasting and shop!

A superb addition to Swansea’s attractions. Michael was an excellent guide around the distillery and more than knowledgeable when it came to sampling time. I’ll be back when it is in full production. Don’t miss the technically superb introduction video featuring the scientific genius Michael Faraday and John Vivian, founding father of the Swansea Copper industry.

We visited the distillery on Sunday the 23 of July at 2 pm to do a tour of the place and a tasting experience.On entering the building, you are met by a wonderful and helpful team. This time, we were met by Stella, who took us around the place. The tour started by a small introduction explaining what they do there we were led into a dark room which had a interactive video display explains the history of swansea copper works. we were led then to the distillery, and Stella explained every process of the whisky start to finish. We then walked out side and she showed us where they would store the barrels also Stella pointed out all the old machinery from the copper works and how it would have been used. We then proceded up the whisky bottle stairr case to the bar area, which we tried a few whiskey, Stella explained the difference between them and how they all got their colour and different taste. This tour is a must for every whisky lover or someone who loves the history of swansea.The shop is well layed out with a lovely open kiln which has very nice bottle selection in the center the place is well lit and the use of lights and mirrors give the place a really modern feel but not loosing the character of the old copper works.Brilliant mini tour and very funny host

The whisky masterclass did not disappoint. Fun, friendly and very knowledgeable Lauren, took our mixed group of whisky lovers and their whisky doubting partners through the Penderyn range. We toured the small production site, amazed that they produce a million bottles a year and tasted a lot of whisky. No small measures here, a large breakfast is highly recommended and so is this masterclass experience
