Greenwell Road (Part C) long stay car park

A convenient long stay car park that is free for up to 24 hours. No need for tokens (don't try car park A unless you have one of these - though these still allow you to park for free but are needed to show when you arrived apparently). Very handy for the town and castle.

This is the best car park to use if you're visiting Alnwick Castle or Alnwick for the day as you don't (currently) need to buy a £1 a parking disc to display your arrival time. Parking is free for 24 hours. We parked here on a Sunday to visit the castle and arrived at 10:30 - plenty of spaces.After parking, we walked to the castle and the signs were pointing in lots of different directions which was a bit odd! The quickest way is to turn left out of the car park and look for the big castle sign. It looks like the Alnwick Gardens entrance but you can enter the castle by taking the left fork.When we returned to Alnwick on Tuesday evening at 16:30 to stay at the White Swan hotel, the hotel car park was full, so we parked here. There were plenty of spaces and I was able to park opposite the entrance to the hotel car park. The car was fine overnight in there. When we left the hotel at 10:30 on Wednesday morning the car park was already full. So it seems like luck whether there will be spaces as it was empty at the same time last Sunday!
