Rush Hair Southampton

I always look forward to visiting Rush Southampton. Lee and Michael are always very welcoming on arrival and I love my appointments with Josh. He’s such a nice guy and provides excellent service every time. I highly recommend Josh and this salon!

Marlena did an incredible job on my hair the colour is exactly what I wanted and the cut is wonderful. She was professional and kind I would recommend this salon to anyone x

After my last experience at a hair dressers this year left me feeling very dejected I booked in to have a t section highlights here. My stylist was amazing, all the staff were warm and welcoming and I left feeling so much better than when I left the other (popular) salon in Southampton earlier in the year. 10000x better experience- thank you so much!

Josh did a fantastic job today colouring and blow drying my hair, I’m very happy with my hair great balayage very friendly and fantastic service. Cant fault him one bit. Keep up the great work I will definitely be having my hair done by him again

Went in April for a dye and cut including a fringe. Was perfect and lovely service so decided to book for today.Went today 10 sept.Got there to be told by Lana doing my work that aparently I was called yesterday to say the colors changed so they needed me in tomorrow for a patch test? I couldn't, so she put the test on my arm. Discussed swatches to be told no coppers in permanent but she'd check upstairs.Came back with 2 coppers aparently permanent so I picked a nice looking one very close to my last. Firstly I had to ask the patch test to be taken off my arm as she left it on and covered me with the robe.The colour was terrible patchy muddy mousy blonde once washed and dried. My ends were cut wonky at the back and my front, was not even touched, looking like rats tails once dried. The sides were super frizzy.The manager was disagreeing with me re the colour at first saying copper doesnt always come out and sometimes needs brightening.(My hair was faded red when I arrived and I was never told that would be the case. Especially as back in april it was done in one colour and perfect bright copper with a similar swatch based on what they now have.)I said this isn't red at all though its muddy blonde with patches. I've died my own hair red many times so yes it fades but not the second its dyed. Ive also and never ended up that colour.So after which Lana kept trying to hack at my fringe so I literally had to tell her to stop cutting as it was not straight" she was just messing it up badly. She called her manager to check it. After having water sprayed down my face in my eyes by him he straightened the front of it..But was insisting there was "no more fringe down the sides" as(I have my sides a bit longer.) I showed 2 photos of my last cut as he asked to see.. aparently it was not the same fringe?? despite me insisting it literally was the same day after being cut by the last lady who's left. Yes pictures are deceiving (But if he'd put just my hair up he'd have seen what i meant! I just did put it up and can see the long side bits now that are very much there and now not even at all) At that point I gave up..I agreed to have a red pigment demi permanent over the top then and there as I couldn't come back tomorro due to working 7am till 11pm. I booked an appointment 3 months in advance, for a family wedding. They called me 3 days before to say - sorry we are cancelling it for so and so reason. When I asked what should I do now with no notice to get a new one - they said, well it's not something we can help you with and no we have no other appointments.I just feel I chose Rush for its name and its reputation but the way they just cancelled with no regard for further consequences - was beyond disappointing and sad.Avoid using Rush Southampton for anything important.

Micheal has been cutting and styling my hair now for over 10 years and never once have I been disappointed. He is so personable, friendly, provides advice and takes time to cut and style - so I always leave the salon feeling amazing.The salon itself is clean, relaxing, spacious and the team all very friendly.

A week befoe my visit I phoned Rush to reschedule my appointment from 5pm to an earlier time. I was told my appointment was changed to 1.45pm. I phoned again day before and was told I do not have an appointment with them. I gave my name 4 times and finally I was told I am booked for 5pm like my original appointment.I went in to bleach my roots and refresh my colour to ice blond.Lady put the bleach on and left me. After some time without checking my hair I was called to wash my hair. Lady was splashing the water all over my face and scratching my hair and pulling them while washing.She than put a toner on, again splushing the toner all over. After some time she said that my roots are not toning well and are yellow. She said she will blow dry my hair to see the colour.The colour was all over the place, yellow, Ash blonde, ice blonde. I said I do not like this yellow, so she advised she will put more bleach on my hair. And that's what she did.After that more toner. Yellow were covered a bit better but not to the colour I wanted.She than started brushing my hair ready to cut. She didn't even ask me where I like my partition. Decided to do it on the side. I had to tell her that I have it on the middle.It is Tuesday so there is 50%off when you do your colour and cut. I felt like I was charge full amount without discount, until I asked for it.I left the place with my hair still yellowish.Don't think I will be coming back.Sabina

After dying my hair at home and using a colour remover my hair was a patchy orange. I booked a colour correction and cut with Michael and I couldn't be happier with the result. Highly recommend!

Lovely and welcoming! The best two hair cuts I've had in a long time. Have been very satisfied :) Brilliant service, I will be back! :)
