The Olive & Pickle
We had researched places to visit before we came here. The front of house was unwelcoming and abrupt. Didn’t even greet a potential customer. The atmosphere was as if we were unwanted (perhaps because we were in sports clothing? ) the young waitress with blonde hair was the most friendly and helpful staff member there and offered a bowl of water for our dog. The drinks were not correct - but as we were in a hurry and didn’t feel they would care anyway left. Such a shame the food was tasty.

Beautiful restaurant facing the lake.Service was second to none and the staff were all friendly and attentive.The food was beautiful and the cappachino was amazing.Atmosphere was chilled and relaxing with music in the background.Very accommodating for dogs and childrenPopped in for lunch and very glad we did! What a treat.

We visited here for the first time yesterday, Unfortunately we won't be returning, the food was overpriced for the quality and portion size. My partner ordered southern fried chicken and chips which arrived in a bowl with 3 small pieces of chicken and some lack lustre fries, it just wasn't what we expected at all. The fries tasted like they were cooked in old oil so maybe this needs changing. I ordered a fish and chips only to be told, I don't think we have that. If you don't have items then this needs to be mentioned when you seat people not when they start ordering. Also, the menus needed wiping, not a great first impression when you're handed dirty menus with food finger prints all over. We felt the quality just didn't match up to the price, obviously it was close to the lake so maybe tourists aren't too bothered on price but as locals we won't be returning.

No service whatsoever at this cafe. I sat outside with my family for over 20 minutes waiting to be served. No one came so i asked a staff member who said they would be 2mins to come out and take my order. It wasnt busy inside either. No one came so i left. Terrible customer service and unfriendly staff. Awful place.

Lovely place, unfortunately I think there is a new chef. Salt & pepper chicken wrap doesn’t taste as gorgeous as it use to and the chips weren’t great either. VERY Small portion of coleslaw which again I use to love but that wasn’t great this time. Such a shame will venture to Krave next time.

The Olive & Pickle
We often come here after a stroll round the lake. We are always well looked after by the staff and the food and coffee is really good. It’s definitely worth a visit next time you are by the lake.
