Went in yesterday for cocktails for our daughters 18th birthday. There was 7 of us and a member of staff saw us arrive but didn’t acknowledge us in any way. After 20 minutes of sitting in an empty bar and no staff in the bar area atal we left.

We got seated by a lovely waitress in the cocktail bar that we reserved. It did take about 30 minutes to get our cocktail. 3 very under filled and the fourth was quite disgusting! Blue suede shoes! We requested the very under filled cocktails to be filled up which they kindly did do. Very nice place with a good atmosphere but the cocktails were not to the standard hoped.

Beautifully presented dishes. Can recommend the scallop entrée and the lamb main. Extra vegetables were required, and the brocolini tasty. Excellent wine list.Staff welcoming and helpful.Price range; £££ worth it, though.Excellent cocktail bar, too

Incredible evening at The Adamson, I can see why it's so popular! The staff was so friendly with recommendations and suggestions, and we had such a wonderful dinner here. The oysters and steak were definitely the highlight of the meal, and I would certainly recommend them to anyone.

After three days, we finally found an excellent steak. Good Angus beef and properly cooked medium rare. Enjoyed all the food and the cocktails. Shame they were out of Drambuie. This is where we will eat when we're visiting. Very good service for Scotland.

4 of us were seated in the Bar, no reservations allowed, after dining and drinking, we were told we had 10 minutes to vacate, as they needed our table. We had just paid the bill, 300 lbs, and were still finishing our drinks. Meanwhile, the table next to us was occupied by 2 people who were sharing a glass of wine when we arrived, and were still sharing it, and not a word to them. I will never grace these doors again. there are too many good service options.

We ate here the other night and we enjoyed our meal. We were 1 hour early for our booked table but they were kind enough to give us a table. We asked to sit outside. The table was very small for the 4 of us and the chairs weren’t that comfortable. The staff were very friendly. However, they could be a little better with their service. Once we got our table my wife and dad went to the toilet and we were immediately asked if we were ready to order drinks. I thought it was a bit premature of them asking as the whole party wasn’t there. We got water and bread for the table and asked the waiter to come back in a few minutes. Before our mains, staff walked past our table a number of times and didn’t collect our bread board which we had clearly finished. When our mains arrived the waiter realised that one little table wouldn’t fit all our meals so he awkwardly pulled another over with his hands full. The bread board was still there so the waitress had to do a swap with me. I feel that this awkwardness could have been avoided if the staff were a little more on the ball with the tables and clearing the used board before serving the mains. The food itself was really good. I got the fillet steak which lovely. However, I asked for medium rare but it was definitely more on the medium side. I also thought it was very small considering how expensive it is. I got truffle and parmesan fries with it which were ok. They were bog standard fries with Parmesan sprinkled on top. I couldn’t taste the truffle. My wife got fish and chips. She said the fish was delicious and the chips were fine. My mum got the prawn linguine which she really enjoyed and couldn’t fault. My can’t remember the name of the vegetarian dish my dad got but he said it was nice. For dessert I got the chef’s physician which was incredibly tasty (just wish there was more of it), my mum got a meringue dessert which was also lovely and my wife got sticky toffee pudding which was scrumptious.Overall, we had a good meal. Staff are very friendly but service could be improved. I also believe that it was a bit expensive.
