After many years of wanting to try these, I stopped by this morning for a nicely warm and warming steak and kidney pie. Witness the ample filling; the pastry is excellently buttery. I also have a cheese rissole for later. Worth the wait, and the stop.

Used to be good tasting pasties and pies. However since covid the quality has dropped the pasties do not taste the same as before they have this strange taste to them that never used to be there and the pies are the same it's strange how something you used to like eating and tasted very good, now tastes horrible.

Visited Ron Evans Pies for the first time in many years this week. I selected a number of their pies for us and our neighbour... From suet & steak and kidney pies, cornish and their ever popular mince beef pies. All fabulous, pastry very tasty and most of all the amount of filling in each pie. Full to the brim. Price fantastic too compare to other pies I have bought over the years elewhere. So if you are ever in or passing Taibach and fancy a pie pop in.. like Anthony Hopkins... You can't go wrong. First class comfort food any day. Well done to staff and the lady who served me.

Local pastie and pie shop Portalbot. Have stopped of at this shop for years. Very polite ladies who's been serving on the counter for years ! Would reccomend a visit if driving past. Dont blink though as you'll miss the shop, it's small.

Evans pie were legendary in the area, sorry to say they've lost that edge ,I've eaten them for years and they just don't taste the same anymore, the girls in there always great but have cut back on the ingredients, definitely more gravy in the pies and hardly any meat. What happened to the steak and kidney pies rammed full of meat ? Time to eat else where.

A fantastic local pie and pasty shop that sells great rissolls and Welsh cakes!We stop here if passing for dinner in work or if we go away at the weekends we try and pop in here early afternoon as they close in the afternoons.Staff are great and always do what they can too help... even if I ask for a stone cold Evan's pie but these are freshly made and are beautiful.
