TMS The Makeup School London

I spent a long time researching courses before I found The Makeup School. I really wanted a course that encouraged me to develop approach and technique and to develop my own style and I'm really glad that I found it. The 5 day course is intensive, when you aren't absorbing knowledge from Jacqui's demonstrations then you are practicing technique. From day 1 you begin doing professional level make up. Jacqui is an excellent teacher and her experience in the industry really comes through, you know that you are gaining invaluable insight. I went to The Makeup School as a guy with little to no experience in makeup, so I was pretty nervous on the first day, but Jacqui was really great and supportive!There is a lot to learn on the course but as the class sizes are small I always had the opportunity to ask questions when I needed to, and plenty of time to practice. At the end of the week I felt confident and was itching to use the techniques I'd learned.Its a really fun week and Jacqui is a wealth of knowledge with lots of practical advice to share, so definitely bring your notebook- Mine has become a handy reference to have!

I was SO excited but nervous & unsure what to expect having booked this 1 week intensive course BUT I have to say it was the best thing I have ever done. I would never look back & I can't thank Jacqui enough for making it so worth while.It's hands on from day 1 which throws you in the deep end but it's definitely the best way to learn and as its a small class Jacqui is able to pick up on any little mistake and correct you as you go throughout the whole week. A model would come in and Jacqui would demonstrate her looks and then we would try and create this on our paired team after & again in the afternoon. As well as this we learnt SO much about product knowledge, amazing tips for makeup correction & application.I enjoyed it so much that I am back in Feb 2016 for the week advanced course!Thanks Jacqui!

The Makeup School is fabulous! I've just completed the Platinum course with great success. Our tutor Jacqui was utterly lovely, warm, nurturing and supportive. The group was small and friendly and full attention was given to each student throughout the training.With a wealth of experience in the industry and a plethora of incredible high profile clientele, Jacqui's tuition was amazing and each training day packed full of professional techniques, great tips, industry advice, clear instruction, excellent demonstrations and lots of opportunity to practice, practice, practice. All materials were provided along with many smiles, words of wisdom and constant encouragement. I can not recommend this course and teacher enough! Gold stars all the way ***

Absolutely wonderful experience!Prior to enrolling onto the TMS course with Jacqui, I had enrolled into an expensive west London make up school, thinking I was going to get the best training - oh how wrong I was!! it was an awful experience, a tutor who didn’t want to be there, teaching outdated, stale looks, cookie cutter make up artistry at it worst. They seemed to just want bums on seats. Awful. So I withdrew from the course and had to fight like mad for my money back. Feeling burned and apprehensive from this experience I was so worried about enrolling on my next course in fear of wasting money again. Thank goodness I found Jacqui and TMS!!!! As soon as I spoke to her on the phone, I knew she was the one I wanted to train with. She was so passionate about her school and her passion & industry experience with make up oozes from her. It was exactly what I had been looking for.We were taught, current, modern make up techniques, with models provided at key points. Jacqui is full of real industry tips of all the things you wish you knew about make up! Jacqui taught us solid foundations of basic looks but then encouraged us to elaborate on them, using our creativity & branching out into using colour, sometimes bright colour!! With a wonderful effect - something I have never felt confident doing having stuck to safe nudes & browns my whole life! She also taught us how to fix mistakes and so many other useful things I can’t list them all.Jacqui teaches you how to be a make up artist, not just how to do preset looks.I completed the training feeling confident to move forwards in a career in make up artistry having had excellent tuition and supervision.The studio is also a wonderful space, I traveled there each day by car having rented a parking space nearby for just £30 for the week. Bargain.There is also a delicious cafe just down the road with a variety of lunch options - I went everyday!!I will be returning in July to complete her advanced training course. And can’t wait .Thank you Jacqui!

Jacqui is a fantastic trainer. I have learnt so much from her during my training and the support she gave after was brilliant. I emailed her for advice after having a trial with my first ever bride and she again gave up her time to guide me. If I was to do my course again, I would hesitate to train with the makeup school London. Thank you for your support Jacqui.

The small number of students per class was great , it made it possible for Jacqui to attend each student at a time. What I mostly appreciated was Jacqui's generous sharing about her personal experience as a Makeup Artist. She spoke about the Do's and Don'ts in the life of a MUA. Jacqui shared tips and tricks that she picked up along the years as a professional. She focused on techniques, that pass us by, when you are a beginner and are a Must for every MUA. The Silver course is very complete, you get a taste of all the important outlines in Makeup!! Amy , the model we met, is great too!

I completed the intensive Silver course in London with the Makeup School and it was an amazing and valuable experience. I gained a lot of knowledge in terms of makeup products and the best techniques on how to apply them. Our teacher Jacqui was engaging, patient and very talented, she shared a lot of great tips with us and she was always there to provide us with guidance whenever we needed it. The course was very well set out over the 5 days, Jacqui taught each topic in sections followed by a makeup look that we would need to recreate, allowing us to practice our makeup techniques on the model/student. I would highly recommend this course, my confidence in makeup has definitely grown, a big thank you to Jacqui!

This course was wonderful. I did the two week Platinum course and I learnt so much. Jacqui keeps the group sizes intimate, so she was really able to help and give advise when you're working on your model, something I definitely couldn't imagine happening in a large class. Jacqui was also so warm, friendly, and talented that it made the course a pleasure. Having the same teacher every day really allowed her to see what in particular we needed to work on. She was also amazing at working really hard to get us discounts so we can start our professional kits. I'm so sad that the course is over as I loved every minute of it, but I feel ready and well prepared to begin my career as a make up artist. I would 100% recommend this course to anyone who is thinking about working in makeup.

I completed the silver course last week with The Makeup School and I cannot recommend it highly enough! I had conducted lots of research & shopped around for a beauty course, before deciding that The Makeup School incorporated all the essentials skills to get started in the industry and for the best price!Lots of other courses were charging thousands for the same (if not less) of what Jacqui is teaching. The rest were cheaper but there was less teaching and demanded you spend weeks of your own time creating a portfolio to submit that they pass or fail you on. Essentially you are paying to teach yourself!!Jacqui keeps the groups small, ensuring that each participant receives the attention necessary to flourish over the week. The class is a combination of tutorial lead by Jacqui on a model (in our case it was the lovely Amy) and then the participants perform a practical, recreating each look. Jacqui is constantly on hand to provide support and assist at any point you’re struggling.Finally, I cannot praise Jacqui enough. She is so warm & approachable, creating a really inviting atmosphere to thrive in. She has tonnes of industry experience, lots of great stories and amazing tips- the tight liner is a revelation!! I learnt so much, which I applied to an MUA volunteer job yesterday. Honestly, without Jacqui’s teaching I would have really struggled & been muddling through. Instead, I was confident in my product knowledge and application.Thank you so much lovely Jacqui, I will definitely be signing up for the platinum course!! Xxx
