Had a large group booking with lots of kids and the function room was perfect. the food and service was great all in all very happy.

We went to The Black Boy for our annual Christmas meal and could not fault the service that we received. I was first to arrive and saw that our party had been split into 2 tables which I wasn't too happy about. Once Lavinia saw that I wasn't too pleased she and the staff rearranged the tables in a way that we were all together on one long table. It was done without any fuss. The service also was good during the evening even though they had 3 other big groups in that evening.A BIG shoutout to Lavinia and the rest of the staff. We will definitely be back next year!

Went for a work do. Good food , great service and a very cosy feeling space. The mushroom stroganoff was amazing.

The rating is only for food.Went out for a dinner with friends.It’s got a good wine list and it’s reasonably priced too. The wine of the day was old out. But still there was plenty of choice to choose from and the usual wine choices were absolutely available. We chose the Rioja which was good choice.Food was ordinary to be honest. Nothing special about it. We tried the lamb koftas which were ok. Squid was decent though. The steak and the burger were average. Nothing special at all.Verdict 3/5Meal for 2 £80/- with 1/2 bottle of wine

Unbelievable!! Walked in today(Sunday) at 2: 10 , hoping to eat . But was told they hadn’t any tables. Ok , disappointing! I then walked out of the door and was able to book a table for 2:15 . Tried calling to ask why but unfortunately no one picked up . Hopefully they will come up with a decent excuse!

Staff are friendly, .welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.The rooms are on the small side but totally big enough for our needs and the bed was super comfy.The pub is in a very quiet spot but its a 10 minute stroll to catch a bus into Oxford.Planning another stay next year.

We came for lunch - delicious food :) ...especially for the price. Service was fantastic...the manager Sarah and all the staff are amazing...if only all pubs could be like this ....

I went there two times. The first time, we were really hungry and excited about the yummy-looking food we saw in pictures. But the kitchen was closed. Then, we tried to go for lunch on a Sunday, but it was completely closed. They don't work on Sundays, which is strange!So now I have a feeling that the pub either understaffed or perhaps they serve exclusively to locals who are aware of their operating hours. I'm afraid to go there now hungry and end up choosing another place instead.

Impressive Sunday roast at The Black Boy. The roast was succulent especially the veggie tart and my favourite yorkshire pudding was freshly made and really tasty, very well presented and the ambiance added a cozy touch to the dining experience. Highly recommended!

The room was lovely and very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast excellent and all the staff were welcoming and helpful. Would visit again and I highly recommend it
