We loved it here when it first opened and really liked the food but the last two times we were here the food was so disappointing and really pretty awful. Last time the egg in my breakfast was raw (not just a bit raw, almost completely raw) and this time my sandwich was somehow hard as a rock but also wet on the outside. It's such a shame because we really used to enjoy chaiiwala and the quality is now so poor two times in a row that I don't think we'll return again.

Very good late night option since Chaiiwala is 24/7. First time I discovered this spot I tried the Chana rice bowl and was honestly surprised by how fast the food was served.I recommend this spot if you're looking for something quick but still want flavourful options instead of fast food. They've got both bigger and smaller portions which is great for people who like tasting different foods.Staff is very welcoming and will give good recommendations on the menu, and it's a very unique menu.Will definitely try some desserts next time.

Relaxing ambience, fair price and a lot can happen over a cup of Chai. You have chat items, sandwich, masala omelette roll, English breakfast throughout the day. I personally feel cozy about this place. A great place to catch up with your friends

The desi breakfast was not worth the money. The omelette was very small and the extra toppings are very expensive. The quality of the paratha was very poor the taste of the paratha was not very good. The channa was average quality, the lentils was okay a bit watery and the beans was not too bad. The karak coffee and karak chai was good but on the sweet side. On the whole a very poor experience and cost £22. It was at 9.30pm on 18th of July 2023

I went in to the portswood store today the food and drinks were perfect as usual how ever i encountered a rude/racist member of staff.The girl who served me was an asian girl who looked to be of indian ethnicity and she was acting very rude/racist towards me for no reason as soon as i walked to the till to order. There was another worker there who looked to be chinese she was really nice and hard working how ever the other lady seemed to be bossing her about.I have been going here for about a year now and have never had a bad experience until today.Also mine and my boyfriends food was served without cutlery or straws for the drinks then when i asked where it was the same lady said in a rude mannor “do you want me to get it for you” to which i responded “no thank you i will get it myself” as i could tell she was acting rude.As i went to get the cutlery she was also staring at me looking really rude when i was smiling at her. It seemed as though she was talking about me too at points.Again though the food and drinks were really good as usual just a shame about that particular member of staff as ive never encountered this before here or at any other Chaiiwala.I was in the store at around 1pm today.

Visited the store 14/10 at 11.30am with my wife and son.Spot on experience, brilliant service by both staff members working. Polite, courteous, happy and smiling, positive vibes from both. Food was tasty, served on time, exactly what I've come to expect for this store. Well done and keep up the good work team! I'm also a branch manager in Portswood Screwfix and love to see great service.

Nice place, with great aesthetic, the ladies there were very kind, helpful and quick. The food was delicious, and tasted fresh.
