KG Archery

Visited KG as recommended by my club to buy my first bow. After picking out a couple of risers (as a left handed shooter I was unsure of how much stock they’d have in- there was plenty!) to try out we went through to the shooting range to practise. Once I found the right riser and limbs for me, the arrows were tailor made just for me there and then on the spot. I then picked out the rest of my equipment. I spent just over two hours in the store and the whole time I had one on one help and guidance- a rarity these days! I cannot recommend KG enough. Outstanding customer service with invaluable knowledge. Very reasonably prices. The limb exchange is value for money, especially for a beginner training who will no doubt need to increase weights.

JULY 2023:I'm back again - fabulous customer service again!I returned two months later to buy a new set of arrows, as I always thought I would. Once again the customer service was first rate: one-to-one, nothing too much trouble, great unbiased advice, they watched me shooting both before and after my purchase . Really happy that I walked out with the custom-made arrows on the day (and even watching them being made is an experience). Thank you, KG Archery!PS: Try the Carpenter's Arms just down the road too - fabulous Italian food.------------------------------------------------------------MAY 2023:Customer service beyond expectation!I travelled quite a distance to visit KG Archery, seeking advice on whether my equipment would be OK to shoot after a 'sabbatical' of 25 years. Neill gave me a huge amount of his time looking it all over, and even got me shooting a few ends on their range to see how I was handling the weight of the limbs. I told them I was prepared to buy new arrows at the very least, but Neill's bottom line was you may as well shoot your old ones until you've broken too many

Just popped in to get my first Bow, very welcoming and helpful. Came away with everything I need and nothing I didn't. For less than I was expecting to pay. I'll definatley be back.

My son and I have just completed our beginners course and asked where to go and look at bows. Being 2 hour drive away we were given closer shops to go to but told KG Archery was the place to go.Nikki and Ben from the club were not wrong. We got there at about 11.30 and left at about 3.The customer service is second to none. When we got there it was busy and all the team were helping other customers. After a short while a member of staff was free to help us out. They showed us the risers and checked the price range for us as I didn't want to spend to much (just incase my so changes his mind in 4 months lol) he allowed us to hold all the different ones we liked (I'm sorry I forgot his name)After we picked the ones we liked he went and got different limbs for us to test to see what our draw weight were and he changed my sons a couple of times without an issue.We shot the bows for must have been over an hour test them out. We got measured for arrows, each step of the process he explained what he was doing and why, which my son thought was great as he loves to asked loads of questions to understand the how's and why's.After we were all set for our bows and arrows, we went to pick other equipment that we knew we needed due to being at the club. I asked if we needed anything else and he was honest and said as your just starting you have everything you need, later on when your more involved then you will need the other parts but not to worry about getting the other bits just yet as we just need to get use to the equipment we already have.Just having that honestly which you don't get in other retail stores will make me order online or even drive back. He could have sold us anything extra and I would have brought it.Over all this is the place to go for your equipment, honest and top quality customer services. Also the banter is great aswell.

Big thanks to Martin and all the staff at KG not only are they super helpful and friendly they really know their stuff! I took in my 15 year old bow today and they did a fantastic job of getting it back to top form. They also kitted my husband out with a beginners bow and fletched all the arrows on site. Nothing was too much trouble would highly recommend! Thanks guys!

Excellent, family run, shop. Helpful, patient and knowledgeable staff…special mention to Adrian. They’re happy to spend as much time as necessary to ensure that whatever you buy is set-up properly and, more importantly, suitable for you. I doubt they’d sell you something that was unsuitable, unless you stupidly insisted on ignoring good advice.I’ve been into other archery shops and been ignored / treated like an inconvenience. Not here. I’ve also been sold entirely unsuitable kit at merlin, one of kg’s biggest competitors.

I went during the week because I knew I'd take up a lot of their time getting my first proper set-up (about 2 hours!). Adrian was very friendly and I was hugely impressed with the service.

Amazing service, the staff all had friendly faces. I took their advice on equipment as a beginner and walked out more than happy. I loved that I told them I had a budget and they worked around it. Would definitely go again and suggest to others.

Following recommendations from club members I visited KG looking to purchase my first bow. I was told in advance don't expect to be in and out like a visit to the supermarket, how right they were.I was met by a staff member who immediately asked what I was looking and what budget I was working towards. I had a figure in mind and once having established what I wanted the selection process began. I was given access to a vast array of bow risers to handle and try for weight and comfort from the cheapest to the more expensive. Once selected I was measured for draw length and a bow size was determined. Following on risers and other component parts were added. The bow was then assembled and I was on the range trying out some shots to confirm sizing and poundage were right for me.The bow was then taken and fine adjustments were carried out on the setup. Back on the range some finer adjustments while shooting. Next came the arrows and these were cut to my length before being fletched and completed. Back on the range for another round of tuning and then to the till. All the time I was being served I was advised as to my running total, given advice on products, not pushed to the most expensive but advised as to the pros and cons of products. In all I purchased everything I needed within my budget. Three hours later I left KG with a bow tailored to me and really pleased with my kit. There are so many positive things I could say about this business. These days customer service like this is rare.

My girlfriend bought me a bow from here as a gift. Handmade on the premises & what a absolute work of art it is. I’m no archer (a wonna be) so I went back to the shop today just so I could I could change the glove she’d bought me for a correct size. The lady in there was extremely helpful and asked if I’d brought my bow with me and did I want to have a few shots with it. (I did have it). She then got her husband to stop what he was doing to show me a few tips on how to shoot this new lovely bow I now have. Again he couldn’t of been more helpful. He must of spent an hour with me showing me what’s what. What a lovely genuinely nice couple and a mind boggling shop. As I say I’m no archer but that shop would have exactly what I needed if I was. So well stocked on every piece of archery equipment. I think I’ll be back very shortly to get more stuff if not just to have a better look round. Thank you for all your help today.
