Oh dear, bought 4 light bulbs (which were expensive) but I agreed knowing he said I could take them back if they didn't fit the fixture. They weren't the right ones so when I took them back he was very rude. He said I've never refunded a light bulb in 30 years". Will never go here again."

I ordered a lamp early November 2017. An estimated delivery date was given as 6-10 days after the order had been submitted. As December arrived and no lamp in sight I started a series of phone calls. In two of these I was told that the lamp would be coming soon. In a subsequent phone call the delay was blamed on a takeover of the Swedish firm which made the lamp but “it will be with you soon”. I asked if the gentleman had any email contact with the firm to get a more accurate delivery date.He said he would email the company and then email me. He didn’t. After that phone call the gentleman never answered the phone again. The shop seemed permanently closed ( at least no one answered the phone). I contacted my credit card provider and they gave me a refund. I will never try and buy anything from The Lighting Workshop again.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE- Save yourself months of stress.We ordered lights April 23rd. Paid for in advance after woman in shop said lights would be delivered well before the end of May". Have phoned many times

Like other reviewers before me, I STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST buying from this dishonest trader, and in particular, DO NOT purchase online. My experiences have been similar to others: You won't receive your order on time; you will spend months enquiring where your order has got to; you will be repeatedly fobbed off by the owner with a series of implausible reasons why your order is delayed; and then, if you receive damaged goods, you can forget any kind of customer service or refund. In the end, I had to take legal action to recover money owed to me. I have reported this trader to the local Trading Standards office and to the national Citizens' Advice consumer helpline. I hope this review prevents other people going through the same stressful and protracted experience.
