Dobbies Garden Centre Rugby

What has happened to Dobbies Rugby???This used to be an amazing garden centre with huge range and choice, an Amazing aquatic and pet section and a welcoming cafe.It’s now an open expanse of nothing, huge areas outside empty, Christmas area was neither here nor there, nothing enchanting or magical about it and overall a very disappointing experience.Whilst there is a Waitrose food areas inside the main areas again your not really aware your in it as it’s just little to no flow of the store.This store used to be a real gem with effort taken to get customers to spend money, with the empty and expansive areas of nothing it’s almost too easy to walk straight through and not spend any money…..Dobbies need to get a team in to refresh and revive this oneself great garden centre.

First time here today (Sat), my wife has been a couple of times. I was really impressed with the seating area and the cakes looked good, but you had to wait a while in the queue before ordering (looks like other reviews mention similar). Wasn’t a game changer though! The really disappointing issue was the soft play seating area. Tables were just left with dirty plates and food all over that table. Then at the back of the room there was an area where some people had moved either their tray of food or the dirty ones so they could sit at their table. There were flies everywhere, the room isn’t well ventilated so all the dirty food on tables and the floor is a haven for dirty flies! It was just disappointing as the soft play area is really nice, my 3 yr old daughter had a great time playing. It was a shame about the state of the seating area as it just felt dirty and forgotten about. All it would take is for staff to go in every so often, take the dirty plates away and give the tables a quick once over. The staff were coming in to deliver the food but they seemed oblivious to the piles of food on tables and at the back of the room.

The service in the cafe is honestly so slow! I've been twice recently and cannot get over how long it takes to get a drink!!Nice people but flipping heck!!There is also a very slow clearing of tablesI just think they need more staffGood selection of items in the garden centre and good farm shop. It is spenny compared to local places but convenient

This review is of the cafe/restaurant rather than the garden centre as a whole. As other reviewers have said, the service was very slow. There were long queues to order at the counter and the wait for the food was even longer. The place was not even that busy when we were there. The food when it arrived was not that pleasant. Processed rather than fresh and poorly presented. The meals we were served ranged from luke warm to stone cold. We will not be returning or recommending this place for food or drink. It's a shame because it could be really nice but serious improvements are required at present.

Visited today to see Santa with our 4 grandchildren.Wow Santa was the best ever, he was so engaging with all the girls and spent so much time talking to themHe was absolutely brilliantI do believe he was the real SantaA special mention to his two amazing and funny elvesThey were spectacularThanks for a great time. Christmas has certainly arrived

Always love a trip to Dobbies, though it helps I live just 5 minutes down the road! I am a member so get perks in the cafe and points, and a percentage off plants which is well needed for me. My little girl is too young for the soft play yet, but will be using it soon

We were looking for a birthday present, we knew the plant we wanted which we located, went to the cafe for a drink and then left. We were pleased with our purchase, the drinks we good, the variety of plants was good so a successful trip.

Christmas breakfast, slow service, average food, very cold no heating. Elves and santa very good. kids loved hot chocolate with marshmallow and cream.

Not good...but In fairness the put it right. Didn't charge for the meal and gave us cream scones (for 2 people) to take away .they could not apologise enough... so... Will go back and try again...
