I wish I could put zero stars! My daughter started in September. Bourne knew nothing about her extra needs despite Primary passing these details over. Massive bullying problem and the school are slow to address this or most the time do nothing at all. With the new head Ms Sharma advised name calling is not bullying. Her resolution when we put in a formal complaint about the lack of support for our child was to ask if we had thought of putting our daughter in another school! The head of year Ms Chappel is never there and never respond to emails and is awful at her job. Bourne are not equipped to deal with children with extra needs, it seems they take up to much time as does sorting the bullying. The fastest response I had to an email was to advise I was taking my child out of the school because it was easier for her to go then to support with her schooling and the little delights that cause trouble.

If you are a student needing support such as extra time or needing a reader in exams, then judging from my experience this is not the school for your children. The teachers tell you just before your exam that curtain things have changed and when you confront the teachers at parents evening, they shift the blame. Also if you are a student and have been bad then school put you in isolation" which is where you have to face a wall in a very small area

It is an excuse for a school. Teachers are thieves, don't care about students academic record, all they care about is the uniform, it's like they get their months salary withdrawn if students don't have their top button up. Want your kids to suffer, get bullied, and mocked. Send them to the Bourne Commubity College. Where teachers drive a school bus full of kids like a maniac nearly causing a crash.

I was at Bourne for year 7, 8 and part of year 9. There was some really good parts, and some not so good. The good:- A good number of incredible, supportive teachers (particularly Burns, Harper and Jakob in the humanities department)- Mr Harper in general - incredible teacher who made me love RE- A relatively low amount of bullying (at least from my standpoint)The bad:- Severely underfunded (however this is not at all the school’s fault)- Sometimes more than 30 people in a class, which meant teachers struggled to control all of us (not their fault)- Some rather unpleasant members of the school community who were not always dealt with, both in class and out (due to an in theory very good behaviour system that wasn’t always implemented)- A lot of certain lessons (such as MFL and humanities) were spent dealing with behaviour, which was not the fault of the teachers but incredibly iritatingIf you’re considering sending your child to Bourne, you should consider it may have some things to be improved on, but is in retrospect a good school which I enjoyed my time at.

This school doesn’t care about your mental health or if you’re struggling all they care about is STEAM and how there school is represented, like the appearance of their students like if they are wearing the right uniform, shoes, skirt, tie and if you are wearing jewellery this is an honest review of my experience they deal with things in the wrong way do better you freaks

I really enjoyed my time at Bourne (I left recently) and I was content there for the whole 5 years. Most of the teachers were great and the head (Mrs Watkins) tries to do what she feels is best for the school, even if the students don't always agree with that.I must admit that there was a huge focus on uniform, though I actually liked wearing it, and that the underneath of the tables were disgusting.I never came across any major instances of bullying. The food in the canteen was good.I can't speak about the behavioural system as I was one of the good kids" and never got into trouble. However

I really repent about my decision to send my son to Bourne School. He is autistic and nearly missed his all primary lessons. But after home schooling by online for an year he had improved very much. When he was joining the school and a little bit ability to communicate and explain things. He has a fair knowledge in geography and other subjects. After two years schooling he had lost what he had learned before. He has been home bound for the last four months. After the last day at school, when he came back home with severe behaviour disorder. He had started hurting us, throwing things through the window and has developed sleeping and eating disorder. Two weeks before he had jumped down through the window from our second floor flat ,fractured his backbone. After surgery now on hospital bed. I have no hope he can continue his schooling.

The first few months of going to this school was good nothing was really wrong about it but I started getting I wouldn’t call it bullied but I would get followed by big groups of girls in older years I would get given dirty looks rumours made up about me I would get called pikey I would get locked in rooms by teachers because the girls that followed me round and telling lies about me didn’t feel “safe in a school with me “ but I did nothing wrong I always kept to my lest and didn’t even have any friends in the school I would get moved from lessons and or moved to the back of classes because some one didn’t want to be near me I got pictures taken of me by big groups of girls when I was on my own and even by one of there mums this went on for almost a year and I was told to just ignore it by teachers when other people noticed and told teachers so it wasn’t even me that told them But when they started doing these more often I did make teachers aware but all they did was lock me in a room to make a statement and then leave it the other girls didn’t even need to make statements and I was constantly told I was in the wronge if I did so much as look back at them teachers did nothing about it after about a year of this I got more common me getting called a pikey and followed and pictures taken of me that I was told to retaliate (after so long of me doing my best to ignore) and when I did I got suspended for 2 weeks has 3 isolations whilst the other girls didn’t have to do anything as the teachers described they was in the right after this I didn’t take no notice and just carried on in school like normal but after a few days I had to go in a room every brake and ouch as I was a. “Danger to society” in the school for me retaliating on my own to a big group of girls I was also pulled into a meeting with the head teacher and was told I know you people are all the same but you need to calm down the girls aren’t doing anything I would get stalked on social media they would make comment on stuff I posted what I ignored but a child can only take so much I also have a cross necklace I wear as I’m a Christian but would always get shouting st liver wearing and told to take it if but people wearing crystals around was fine because it’s “what they believe in” after a while it just got to much as I felt I was red wanted it welcomed in the school that I got pulled out I had just turnt 12 this school is just overall racist towards gypsy/traveller kids but try to hide it and they don’t care about kids mental health either I you want to send your child to this school all I would say it don’t this school had made so many kids mental health bad .

Unlike the other rather bland reviews of this school, this is my take on it. (Still at the school, one year left.)Pros:+ The majority of the staff members there are helpful, although like every school you have those who are not helpful. Even the most prestigious schools will have these staff members. Therefore this isn't included as a con.+ It has a nice, helpful SEN department. Although sadly due to the lack of school funding they had to cut down on some staff, this got rid of some good and some bad. Although I do find that the SEN department now onlyconsists of good staff members who are supportive, and know when to be strict. A nice balance of support and strictness there.+ Just wanted to add in an additional one here; Mr Clarke is perhaps the best teacher there. He can deal with students and be nice at the same time, not liking to give out punishments but knowing when it's appropriate and what to give them out for. Keep up the good work! (:Cons:Every school has its cons. :| I'll write this as honestly as a student can, since it's bound to be a bias because I'm a student right? No.- The computers in that school are damaged, can be slow etc..etc. All of the normal maintenance problems for a school that won't turn into an academy. Of course you can blame the government as a factor in this, since they underpay schools. Additionally students can also be blamed since they damage the computers, even though they complain? I'm not one of those, you get what you give I guess.- The facilities there aren't the greatest. (Refer to above point, it has its own separate one because I feel its important enough to earn that, it will not be included in this facility con.). Of course slightly due to the government and students again - The building is somewhat messy, the windows are a bit grubby and chewing gum is under nearly every table. Although, as previously stated; give what you get. Since this is primarily students fault for mistreating the facilities themselves.- The students. The teachers in my personal opinion, (some of them are good. Ms Hudson.) Teachers are not strict enough towards misbehaving students, discipline is low and attempting to bully people is quite high and how they treat eachother. Although of course like most bullies, you get used to their repetitive method of bullying.Overall Summary:A good school, has some minor things like every other school and some pretty big minor things. But out of other schools I would say the level of harassment isn't as high, and the quantity of things you learn is higher then other schools. Including their appropriately arranged groups.
