The Ruth Gorse Academy

The Ruth gorse academy is a great school,the principal has and continues to do a lot for local communities,and students,they hold coffee mornings for parents/carer's and keep parents informed in anything,they also have a 100% attendance rewards for students which some lucky students won 32inch TV's along with other prizes, overall this is a great school.

This school is awful! Tell me what school policy is out where top set get to go out on special trips, leaving middle AND bottom set at school making them feel inferior and excluded from their peers. The staff are rude and can't deal with bullies, you get bullied, you get put in isolation! YOU try standing up for yourself YOU are at risk of being excluded! You aren't allowed to express your opinions about the school, and you say no to a teacher, a comment and detention! I could say 2 teachers that are a credit, Dr. Bullock and mr. Marks are the only teachers worth keeping, the rest of the bunch get rid!

What a disgrace this school is. I was an ex student at Perry Beeches The Academy and the new headteacher Mr Liam Nolan is a complete disgrace. He made a utter mockery of our educational system in Britain yet he manages to find a new job!! Learnt from his mistakes, my arse. This man will never understand the meaning of justice. Send him to jail and throw away the key.Disappointed in this school for hiring such a criminal.

I don't think this school deserves any stars!!!!.But had to put a star to post my opinion.This school is not run like a school but a prison. Kids are not allowed to have their own opinion which I cannot understand since we send our kids to be educated and have their own opinion. French - kids are not allowed to raise hands to ask questions for first 20 minutes of lesson - Hello! Hence change of school.

I live locally and some of the kids going to this school are very irresponsible and reckless. Most recently, a group of 4 males took the life ring from the dock water and used it to play hoopla, arguing with a cleaning member of staff when they were told to stop and put it back. Absolutely unbelievable. I called the school and they didn't seem too bothered or surprised by this behaviour. Perhaps mature and responsible behaviour is not taught at this school. I would be ashamed if they were my children.

I am gonna be 100% honest, TRGA isn't that good of a school. I can name lots of reasons.1.You are not allowed your own coat. You have to wear a red coat what is not even warm enough.2. If your phone goes off or you are seen with it . You get it taken of you for 48 hrs. If it's a Thursday or Friday you don't get it back till the following Monday or Tuesday. So you are left without a phine for the weekend.3. There is no school bus . Pupils have to use public transport . If a bus is late and we are late to school we get a negative comment even though it was the buses fault .4. The Healthstamp. You have to atleast take part in one Pe extra curricular a week to get the healthstamp. That can be at before school . Lunch and after school. Why on earth shall I go school really early to do a club before school. Why shall I waste my lunchtime doing a club where as I can spend time with my mates. Also why will I stay after school if I have plans.5. Teachers are allowed to wear fake nails and that but if a student get them on they end up in Isolation.I don't even know why The school is rated Oustanding. It should be A RI.

A very disgraceful school just awful dont recommend going to this school it has rats and very bad staff one of the worst schools in leeds by far their world class status should be stripped from them!

Awful so-called Academy behaviour students when they finish and out of the building. Creating chaos and amoral and occasionally dangerous situations. As a resident of the area, I can see every day what happens on the street, when these students are none controlled. The teachers or staff do not care to check the students or teach them how to behave on the street.

For those who are going into high school, do NOT come here.. It is an awful school with such ridiculous and pathetic rules! Teacher's don't know what they are doing. I wish I never cam to this school. Ruth Gorse is that bad, I would rather be home schooled. Feeling sick? Not well? Not a chance you can go home. They keep you in school even when ill. You are not allowed to go to the toilet during lesson which I find stupid. If you need the toilet then you go. This school is a disgrace. Schools are supposed to promote health and well-being, instead the teachers here LOVE to make students life hell.forcing students into isolation for the most minor things like it’s a prison? who qualified these teachers? absolutely appalling. Clearly think they are higher than everyone else when the inside of the building is like a zoo.
