We had a great weekend with friends for a special birthday. There were 15 adults and 2 children and we were very comfortable indeed. Plenty of room to sleep, eat, wash, cook, play....everything. The coal fires really added extra atmosphere and warmth, of course. It wasn't difficult to find the house. In the vicinity there's beautiful Eskmoels beach, interesting and pretty Ravenglass, and Seascale a bit further, another amazing beach. I wasn't the host and didn't meet the owner, but from my point of view everything was managed very well.

Just returning from a great 2 weeks at Eskmeals house, great host with good communication, nice spacious house for our party of 17, lovely area close to the coast and lots of mountain hikes.

Eskmeals House is a gorgeous house in a very quiet location. Close to the coast. It’s in a great location and is a great place for a break. We were a family of 18 people and were easily accommodated. We all had a wonderful time and would like to thank Yvonne for her hospitality. Well worth finding.

We stayed at Eskmeals fro the weekend for a family golden wedding anniversary. Yvonne was so helpful in the run up to our visit, and then we arrived had the fire lit and everything ready. We had organised a Tesco delivery of food to the house so settled in for our stay. The house was huge with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, all tastefully decorated in keeping with the property. During our stay we never found anything missing from the vast kitchen, so much cutlery and crockery, and assorted implements, cooking dishes, not to mention hundreds of glasses! Also, handily for large groups, there are several teapots and cafetieres so we never ran out of drinks. The gardens are great, contained for the dog, and parking forever.We couldn't have found a better house to have our celebration, and Yvonne made it so comfortable, I'd go back like a shot!

Just spent Christmas week at this property with family. We all had a fantastic time. House has plenty of space with large bedrooms and comfy beds. Set in a beautiful location. Owner was on hand with anything that we needed.

Just had a weekend at Eskmeals to celebrate joint 50th and 90th birthdays.What a wonderful house, full of character and history. Yvonne the host is really welcoming and is happy to answer all your questions about the house’s past.The accommodation comfortably fit 14 of us, with several beds to spare.The huge square dining table meant we could enjoy eating together because we could all see each other.If you want a weekend away from it all, this is the place.

Our family has returned from spending Easter week at Eskmeals House. We had an amazing time. The house & garden comfortably accommodated 18 adults, 4 toddlers & a dog. The house was clean, spacious, well equipped & very comfortable without being precious". There was enough garden furniture for a family bbq and Sunday roast. The garden was safe for toddlers and dog. The location was perfect for exploring the lakes & the coast.Yvonne was a welcoming and helpful host. Thank you Yvonne.We would have no hesitation in recommending Eskmeals House for large parties visiting this beautiful part of the world."

Spent the weekend here for my brothers 40th.Shared between 6 couples with 5 children an a dog an still had plenty of room.Plenty of local beaches and countryside to explore.Would happily stay here again.

Fantastic, large country house, perfect for large family/ friend gatherings. Approached from down a country lane which makes you wonder where you're going, but then you find this beautiful house in front of you. A lovely surprise.A laid-back feel to it, with everything you need. Very close to the coast and beautiful countryside around.We stayed just for 1 night, but the rest of the family stayed for the weekend. It was perfect for a special birthday celebration.The host, Yvonne, very kindly returned a phone charger left in a bedroom and wouldn't accept payment.Thank you for a great venue.
