Saint George's Church

A hidden treasures. On the Southern side of Stockport, it's a fantastic example of late Victorian neo-gothic architecture. Very beautiful. I attended morning service and they are maintaining a really high standard of Anglican music in a way that has almost disappeared elsewhere outside cathedrals. A lovely rendition of Bullock's 'Give Us the Wings of Faith' during Communion. The congregation were exceptionally welcoming.

The school concert was made more touching given the fantastic church it was in .

First time visiting st George's church, and was impressed with just how large the interior is, and the lovely architecture both internally and external, we were attending my son's baptism which was to be a fully submerged one with a pool erected inside,the vicar her husband and all on the day made it a special day, and what i liked was the fact that all though a baptism is a serious commitment as with the service,there where also humorous times during and after the baptism, we all enjoyed being invited to the parish rooms opposite the church for beverage and home made cakes/biscuits, it made for a day to remember for the friendliness shown by all

A beautiful and serene place. The annual Christmas Tree Festival is a wonderful occasion.

I love this place, its red sandstone is so distinctive and gives it character. A grand building and you can smell the history

It's a good Sunday service had been looking for a church to go too after the church i was going to isn't doing any services at the moment and am glad i found this one. Plus the inside is beautiful. ☺

Lovely craft fair today. Quality of crafters fab. Nice atmosphere. Just more light needed.
