Monks Estate & Letting Agents Wem

My partner and myself moved to Wem four years ago. Monks were helpful and accomodating on all levels from the start. When we had structual issues with the first property we lived in they were invested in making sure we were able to get into a property that we felt safe and comfortable in. We eventually moved away from the small town for a year and have recently moved back and Monks have been amazing again. Jen has been an absolute star and nothing has been too much of an issue even though there had been endless issues trying to get us into our newest property but once again the staff at Monks have been nothing but helpful and patient with us. There is no other team that I would want helping me with the complexities of the housing market both renting or buying.

I have just completed a purchase through Monks of Wem and have been left feeling let down and disappointed.The transaction was somewhat protracted with quite complicated circumstances towards the end, which wouldn’t have mattered very much if communications had been reasonably satisfactory. If there is one thing the agent needs to get right, especially to justify sales fees which can be pretty large compared with lawyers and surveyors, it seems to me to be effective communications throughout.Things didn’t start particularly well: if the viewer is sent to the vendor unaccompanied, even when the property is very local, then the prospective purchaser may tend to rely on direct communications thereafter, rather than via the agent. As the weeks passed, the vendor and I increasingly liaised directly to ensure the transaction was kept on track.Having not communicated with me for some time, Monks did suddenly “bob up” at the end, like the proverbial cork, to advise me that completion had occurred, but then I already knew that directly from my solicitor!

We just wanted to take the opportunity to repeat our thanks to Jo Woollham from Monks in Wem for the appraisal visit yesterday. Speaking for myself I appreciated her professionalism and her in depth knowledge of the market and how that translated into her valuation. I especially appreciated that she made a point to speak directly to my wife hearing her questions and concerns. To date my experience of agents has been largely male dominated and found they often, unconsciously focus on my questions and voice. It stood out for me that she was conscious and made a point in how she engaged us both, it was inspiring to see.On any day I think it’s important to acknowledge and feedback positive experiences but today on International Woman’s Day, I think it more prescient.

Had a really great buying experience all the way from viewings to completion. Super happy with the prompt communication and being kept in the loop all the way through.Standout was how they handled our offer and also when my sale collapsed, doing what was right for both parties.Can highly recommend them.

From first going into the office and speaking to Jo about putting our property on the market to actually marketing it we were very happy with how professional the whole team were. We were informed every step of the way re. viewings and offers .The viewings all took place over the weekend and we had offers made by the monday morning and by the tuesday morning we had accepted an asking price offer. The sale went through easily although Ann-Marie did manage to keep us sane a couple of times .We would certainly recommend Monks to anyone wanting to sell their property..We are not moving again but if we did we wouldn’t hesitate using Monks again. You are guaranteed a warm smile when ever you go into the office and they certainly know the market for pricing etc. Thankyou for taking the stress out of moving house.

Monks have been incredibly professional and reliable with us throughout the sale of our home, from start to finish . We’ve just bought another house listed with them and are happy (and relieved ) to be using them again . Honest , reliable , and in my opinion , great value for money. Anne Marie in their Wem office went above and beyond for us and made the whole process a lot easier . If we sell again in Shrewsbury we wouldn’t use anyone else
