Nice pub for lunch. The only disappointment was the 4 tiny prawns for £8. This was not great value at all.

Unfortunately the food was horrendous, the pictures really don’t do it justice. The vegetables were so dried out my partner didn’t even attempt to eat them, the mashed potato was diabolical, microwave mash would have put them to shame! Lumpy, stodgy and tasted awful. The meat in the steak pie was hard, and the pastry was awful. I luckily just opted for a Camembert but even that was poor effort two baguettes shoved on a plate was hardly and thought into presentation. For the prices charges especially,

Turned up after a wet and cold walk with our new dog, who is only 6mths old and very anxious in unfamiliar places. After he started barking, and wouldn’t settle we started to move to the exit to sit outside. However the manager helped find us a table where we could keep him out the way and comfortable, even though this was a table for 8 and there were only 2 of us. Very grateful for being so accommodating! After a while the dog even fell asleep which has never happened before, so we were able to order food, all of which was fantastic too. Lovely open fire and great atmosphere. Would recommend!

Fantastic beer, amazing atmosphere, ok pub garden. Needs a kids play area down the back. I wouldn't pass up the opertunity for a drink at this location. Didn't eat, so can't comment on that. Visited twice

This is a lovely traditional style pub with a cosy interior and spacious garden. Although we only had a couple of starters of mussels and prawns the quality was excellent. Observing other food being served confirmed our view. Good coffee also. This is an ideal pit stop if you are walking or cycling down to the coast or even a longer stop if you wanted something more substantial. see photos of menus.Of the 3 pubs we have visited in the last few days(The Drive Inn and Rosie Lea’s were visited prior to this) this is the best for food, value, location and ambiance.

We arrived on time @ 7:30, drinks served and menus delivered, very quickly told what they didn’t have left from the specials menu.. couldn’t help think that it was only 7:30!Table we sat at was small for 4 people, and annoyingly being near the door to kitchen, we could hear the music that the kitchen was playing.. I nearly said I don’t want to hear their music thanks.Anyway, food was good, cheerful enough service, so overall ok.

It's a great cosy pub, tucked away. We had Cajun Prawns (amazing) and Chicken Satay to start, followed by lamb chops and a burger. The food was fantastic, nice touch having a pretzel bun for the burger. Literally can not fault the food at all. The service was brilliant, people checking up for anything you need but also leaving enough time between checking. Dog friendly as well, which is also a bonus. If you are in the Boldre area, it is definitely worth popping in.

A great meal at The Red Lion Boldre. They accommodated the entire extended family of 35 for roast lunch. Meal was superb and the catered well with the numbers and also the vegan and gluten free meals. Highly recommend.

Came here for Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed, we all had Roast in the hole, which came in a large Yorkshire pudding, beef, pork, stuffing, parsnips, leeks, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes and with separate side plate of vegetables, we asked for some more gravy to go with it. We all left empty plates, really tasty. For pudding two of us went for it, I had chocolate fudge cake and our friend had cheesecake, we both went for cream rather than ice cream, two empty plates later we were all fully satisfied, great selection of beer too and also the wine by the bottle is very reasonable priced. Service was great as was the welcome, place was very busy which proves how good the food is.We will return, many thanks
