Ormonde Table Table
This is a little unassuming restaurant in the middle of Newmarket. Ever since the pandemic the restaurants in Newmarket have declined terribly. In the 5 years I have been in Newmarket this was the first time I have been and I was presently surprised. The staff are friendly and courteous which is surprisingly rare these days and the food is pretty good. I had scampi and chips and mushy peas which was really nice. I had a sundae for desert which was good. On my second visit I had the roast beef which was good and was a large portion. You can get extra if you are hungry and brave. The roast dinner came in at £9...... I have been disappointed on subsequent visits though having to wait ages for mediocre food.

Arrived and was greeted, staff very friendly and helpful. Was served by Janis who was very chatty and immediately made us feel welcome. Food was quick but tasty, would definitely go again

We arrived it took 30 mins before our order was taken and another hour before the meal came. The restaurant was not exceedingly busy.We were not told of any delay .Worst still it was cold in the restaurant made worse by the delay.When I asked why there was only one person serving was told they only had two pre bookings. Whitbread had a meal offer on and they have a Christmas menu they should be prepared.We use this restaurant fairly often they need to get better organised and better heating. This could really be a good restaurant

Took my family for a meal out,was great by manager Janis, very friendly staff, special thanks to Dermot who took care of us. Delicious meal, arrived quickly,nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was cooked well but warm not hot. There was free parking near the restaurant but not easy to find in the dark and first time going there. Be careful not to use the multi storey car park as it closes at 7pm.

Great good & service. The Sunday roast was o e of the best I've ever had. Only problem was the temperature. Air con made it too cold & after asking many timed for it to be sorted it never really warmed up.

Food here was lovely but once they had got your order you couldn't get the servers to come to your table, it took a long time to get our food yet hardly any people there then trying to get our bill in the end was a joke

Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t even get to sit down.Made a reservation for breakfast and arrived at the time of the booking and were told we would have to wait 45 mins for a table, with 2 young children this wasn’t an option.The place was chaos though. All of the continental items needed replenishing so actually was probably a blessing in disguise and we went elsewhere
