Visited on our way home today: 14/12/2023. We were looking forward to spending some time here as there was a lovely smell and atmosphere. However, having ben seated for around 20 minutes, we went to the bar to get served. Nobody made themselves available so, we left. This was after one of our party initially came in to ask how busy the place was and being assured of a table. There were four of us meaning the Crown lost over £100 of business. That is pretty much what we spent at another pub down the road.

We had the best night at the Crown at Ampney Brook and will be back for more! A free bottle of prosecco as we are signed up to their newsletter was the perfect way to celebrate our birthdays. Maddie was prompt and non-intrusive, enabling us to enjoy our evening with flawless service and brilliant atmosphere. The food was sublime, perfectly seasoned and with combinations that just work. I would highly recommend the Crown at Ampney Brook to anyone looking for a brilliant night out with great atmosphere and fabulous food.

Love this place!Booked their pod for a romantic meal with my wife. Have to say the scenery, the service and the food made it a evening to cherish for a long time. The air-conditioned pod made sure the temperature was just right as we moved from day to night. The scenery and service was spot on, leaving us to enjoy our surroundings and the food is as always, fantastic.Seriously great evening.

Popped here for the winter nights set menu. Set outside in heated domes. The decor was great. Dome was freezing as the regulated heater was broken. We were given hot water bottles and blankets whixh was a nice touch, then replacement heaters as it was -3 outside. The service was great, the lads were very attentive.First experience of a cheese fondue. Although the pot of cheese was massive, the selection of large sliced gherkins, sliced mushrooms, sliced apples, raw cauliflower, roasted potatoes and bread was odd. Apart from the potatoes and bread the other items didn't seem to fit or bind to the cheese. The main made up for it with the beef bourguignon and mashed potatoes. Very rich filling and tasty. The hot chocolate was a bit weak.Disappointed there wasn't an alternative starter. But a good experience.

A charming clean village pub. The service was excellent, Mihaita was a friendly and attentive host. We had breakfast and dinner at The Crown, both didn’t fail to impress, the food was absolutely delicious, fresh and well presented. Definitely would visit again, one of our new favourite restaurants.

Loved the ambiance. Really busy on Remembrance Sunday, so we were given the private dining room for our family which was great for us with the children. The service was top notch.. The men really enjoyed the Tom Long beer. We had a very pleasant family get together.

Wish I could give this place 6 stars. Beautiful ambiance, but the food is really the star of this show. Great value and fantastic food make this the best choice in the area.-Mushroom burger - one of the best veggie burgers I've had in my life. Excellent texture, smoked gouda and a tasty onion chutney made this perfect.-Bang bang cauliflower was awesome. Deep fried and a mayo type sauce, black sesame seeds.-Tomato salad - the tomatoes were very fresh.-Potato leek soup - also excellent-Sourdough - perfect and steamy upon arrivalOh - and only $30 each!

Having gone for coffee and drinks on a number of occasions I was really looking forward to taking friends here for a Christmas dinner. Sadly it was really disappointing. Had a table booked for 8.30pm and didnt get the table until 9.20pm, nobody let us know so we kept having to chase it. We then weren't offered the Christmas menu, had to ask for it. Our starters arrived quite quickly but we then waited for about 40mins for our main courses. The waiters were quite unfriendly and a bit rude at times, I had the feeling we weren't the only ones who had complained that evening. The food was quite nicely presented but for a vegetarian the choice was limited. My starter was tasty but for main I had the onion tart which was the portion size of a starter, even though it was priced as main, so I had to order chips as a side to go with it (making it more expensive than most other mains?) My friends seemed to enjoy their food but the portion size was hit and miss.I have always really loved this pub, the decor and comfy lounge area. I had high expectations for dinner and was really let down. I was pleased they offered our main courses on the house but to be honest an apology or being a bit more attentive would have gone a long way.Perhaps they were having an off night but probably won't be going back for food any time soon.

This is a stunning venue. We popped in for a drink and were wowed by it!!! Beautiful décor, lovely selection of drinks and a very welcoming chap behind the bar. They even have a serve yourself wine station which is a first for me.The area for events and weddings looked absolutely amazing. We didn't have food here, but the menu looked very good and had a great range for both meat eaters and vegetarians. We will be back that's for certain.
