Extremely bad, very small portions, Dinner is reheated and actually burnt from the microwave

Absolutely pathetic portion sizes I asked for a large bag of chips and received half a box of chips on top of my fish, this should have been separate for one thing. The member of staff then charged me for a small bag of chips at £1.70 extra, instead of like an normal chip shop putting a few extra chips on top for free. I will never be back and I’ve used this shop for years, gorgeous food but not the way you conduct business. To add insult into injury I’ve received gravy as opposed to Curry to please stay clear. Iv lived in coulby Newham for 7 years and often used this chippy. The last 4 times iv been the chips have tasted awful and like they have been reheated. I thought it was just a off day but it's happened 4 times in a row.The women serving were not really interested in serving me. I won't be returning.

Food was ok.Parmo relatively small and basic, not much real flavour.Fish was very stodgy with thick uncooked batter on the inside.Tasty chips.Tasty garlic & good size.

I’ve been going to this place for 20 years, back when Gary was knocking his famous specials out.The last 3 times I’ve been it’s just been a greasy mess, last night was the final straw, they managed to give me food poisoning of a London pizza. The pizza stunk of Fish and was just horribly greasy and they’ve clearly started using cheaper cheese.Never again.

Really disappointed!!!Just bought a few portions of fish and chips with curry sauce and mushy peas.Chips were crispy and burnt , seemed like if the chips were fried again, The mushy peas were bland and tasteless.Saw the lady bringing pre-cut chips from the kitchen, she put both bags on the dirty floor then lifted one bag at a time in the chips bucket and ripped the bags open, hygiene is really bad…. I hope the management / owner gets their act together.You have lost another regular customer.

Today, I decided to pay a visit to the renowned Acklam Fish Bar and eagerly placed my order. I opted for their highly recommended dish, a pattie in a bun, along with a side of curry and chips. Despite feeling slightly hesitant about the price tag of £7.50, I resolved to give them a fair chance, hoping to experience the finest pattie in a bun I had ever encountered.Upon arriving home, filled with anticipation, I unwrapped my meal only to be profoundly disappointed. The pattie itself turned out to be a far cry from my expectations, ranking among the worst I had ever tasted. The potatoes within were inadequately cooked, resulting in a distressingly unappetizing texture that resembled rock-hard lumps. To add insult to injury, the minuscule amount of fish present was marred by the presence of a shocking number—eight, to be precise—of bothersome bones. While it is not uncommon to encounter a bone or two in such dishes, discovering an excessive eight was utterly disheartening.Regrettably, this culinary letdown cast a pall over my entire day, leaving me thoroughly dissatisfied and dispirited. The experience failed to live up to my expectations and, in fact, soured my perception of what could have been a delightful meal.

Food Quality Assessment (Size, Pricing, Hygiene)Portions are very small compared to other places in the area. As a reviewer, I have been ordering from several areas in this vicinity. There are better places around 1 - 2 miles radius that provide fresher, better ingredients at a cheaper price. I am food critic as well as assessing quality of the food received.In this order received, the food was not fully eaten as it is questionable on the taste of the food, particularly the handling and preparation of the parmesan.It's last food safety and hygiene inspection was 19th Nov 2021 (2 stars out of 5).Delivery Assessment (Handling, Delivery Time, Experience)Unfortunately, the delivery of the food appears to have been squeezed with other deliveries on the go. As a result, it caused some unnecessary spillage.OverallDefinitely room for improvement and further check needs to be looked into the kitchen. For now, I am giving this 1 star. It appears the portion and pricing to be relatively consistent with the past reviews with their own food and order experience.

I give this place a zero stars review as i found a fried insect in my food....i mean...nothing else to say

Not the cleanest of places, I noticed they have lost their 5* as they have covered it with tape but now displaying how many they actually have.
