Just been to the Southend branch picking a suit , shirt and tie for a wedding. Good products at a decent price I found everything I needed and that Simon went above and beyond to help me choose. Excellent customer service !

only one thing althought very polite staff most have yourself checkout payment i dont like that i am familiar with it but my wife isnt and for the long cue for a cashier most people don like either

Just had a quick shop in Matalan's in Southend on the ground that used to be the old dog stadium. Quite a large shop selling men's, women's and children's clothing and shoes and also having a homewares department. Kitchen utensils seem particularly cheap and they also have an electrical lighting section. To the rear of the shop is a large changing/fitting room and there are plenty of staff that were really helpful. You get 2 hours free parking but please note, shopping trollies need the £1 refundable token if you require a trolley for your shopping. Prices are extremely cheap, maybe not all items have the quality of say M&S and Next but you'll certainly save yourself a few quid. Please see my pictures, hope this review helps.

Went late July into Matalan Southend and although a great range of clothes naturally, an elderly lady slipped over from a leaking roof. I stood with her personally for 5+ minutes without really staff getting their act together, eventually someone came across though and helped her. She had quite a bruised elbow and shoulder by the looks of it.

Always dissatisfied every time I go here. Quality lacks. Just bought a coat for my son and the sleeves are sewn together inside so he can’t get his arms out of the hole. Beyond useless. Waste of my time, money and energy.
