Great place to try baseball in Edinburgh. I first joined in 2016 as a beginner just simply to try out the sport and I’m still with the club. It is a reflection on how welcoming the club is to people who just want to learn and take up the sport as a hobby.Edinburgh baseball is one club with three teams that takes part in competitive league games which runs from April to September. To those who are even vaguely interested in baseball, I would highly recommend coming down to check it out. There’s plenty of spare baseball gloves around for anyone who wants to give it a try. Also, first month is FREE for newcomers.

This is a horrible place to be part of. I have been a member of this club for some time on and off (with a conviction things might change) and the way they treat their members is worse than appalling. It’s a shame because I enjoy the sport very much. Most recently things got from bad to worse. Everyone is asked to pay £15 per month. The club provides absolutely nothing for this. If you try to question this, you’ll receive threats from the manager Paul.I consider myself respectful of other people's religions and beliefs, however, during one of the training sessions I was forced by one of the members to take part in a prayer which starts every game of the Cannons team I am part of. I felt very uncomfortable about this as this is a rather personal matter to me.I have recently made a number of complaints to the club and was replied to in a rude and aggressive manner “If you are in so much of a disagreement on how the club operates perhaps this is not the club for you…” This is the kind of reply I received when I submitted a formal request regarding its finances, how the fees I pay to the club are spent and a complaint. Discrimination is no strange to this club. Some members were forced to resign or leave the club in name and shame games that happen within it.On the 13th of July, 2022 I went to training to hand in an official letter of complaint as they did not want to accept my earlier emails with the same content as the letter and to no surprise, I was greeted by the club manager Paul and my (now former) team coach Ruari only to be informed that I have been expelled from the club. This was in front of other club members. When I asked why, they explained that the fact I shared my feelings/opinions about the state of the club with other members of the club and wrote this review were the reasons.Despite promises to provide written explanation and clear reasons for the expulsion along with a response to my official complaint the club failed to do any of it. So basically, if you're uncomfortable with their setup or ask too many questions, they'll kick you out, simple.I would avoid this club by all means if I were you.

This has been brilliant. I came along as a beginner who loved watching baseball about three or four years ago, and it’s been fantastic. Everyone is so welcoming and enthusiastic, and a lot of people, not just the coaches, have taken so much time to teach me and help me improve my game.A lot of the best players at the club are happy to sacrifice their own training to help the beginners have properly productive sessions, and in four years I have never heard anyone get moaned at for making a mistake in a game.I bring my kids along from time to time too, because sometimes I have to, and I cannot overstate how nice everyone has been to them. Anyone at the club will play catch with them, take time to help them do some batting practice, and just generally be as kind and friendly with them as it’s possible to be.As any parents out there know, if you’re nice to me I’ll appreciate it, but if you’re nice to my kids you’ll have my undying loyalty for life!So if you’re good, bad, or just starting, I cannot recommend this team enough. Brilliant people.

If you are keen on playing baseball, this is the place to be! I started playing around a year ago and the team(s) are some of the nicest, supportive people I have ever met. Before joining I knew absolutely nothing about baseball other than it involved a bat, ball and glove. The Edinburgh Knights, Edinburgh Baseball's single A team, taught be all the fundamentals and gave me the opporunity to play in some real games in the League!I couldn't recommend it enough if you are looking for a new friend group, a new hobby or just a fun way to exercise!

joined about 18 months ago, unsure of what to expect as a complete beginner. I was welcomed in with open arms and couldn't ask to be a part of a better sports club. Everyone helps each other grow and improve across the three teams and it's a great laugh along with being competitive. Huge amount of effort goes in to the organisation of the club and the league, a lot of it voluntary which speaks volumes about the people who do it and that translates across in to the teams too.
