The location and views are superb alone. The staff were extremely professional and attentive. We had the tasting menu complete with the wine flight. The food was absolutely outstanding. The lamb course was mind blowing, the sommelier was extremely knowledgeable concerning which wine with which course.Overall, it is an experience we will never forget. We will definitely be returning in the future.

In Orelle the protagonists are the view, the service and the cocktails. Food takes a second place.Don’t get me wrong, food is delicious and the lower price compared to other restaurants matches the quality. But if you are visiting solely for the culinary experience, you can find other places in Birmingham. With that said, the service, the view and the cocktails are absolutely superb. I can praise the wide selection of wines and service’s genuine friendliness. Expect a relax environment, loud people, live music and great views.

Our first time at orelle and certainly not the last. From the minute you walk through the door you feel like you are getting something special,we were greeted at the door by a friendly young lady who took our reservation details and pointed us towards the lifts to take us up to the 24th floor. From the second those lift doors opened we were wowed, the views are breath taking, feels a little surreal being above Birmingham when you've lived here all your life and you're trying to figure out in which direction you live.Anyway enough bleating...This place is beautiful, we loved everything about orelle, the food was a step above 5* I can't recommend it enough,we had the Sunday roasts(see pics)with the crab and terrine starters,a staff member did say to us not many people know that they do Sunday roasts, so I'm plugging them here, they are definitely worth trying, and you won't be disappointed.Orelle staff are attentive, happy to have a chat and happy to recommend drinks etc.All in all we can't wait to visit again and try the tasting menu.

Unfortunately this was really disappointing. Having spent £146pp for the 5 course tasting menu and wine flight, we left hungry. The service, views and atmosphere were great, but portion sizes tiny. Understandably a lot of skill and effort goes into making the food, but having eaten at a number of Michelin star restaurants and never leaving hungry before this was extremely disappointing. Previous reviews show larger portions, I’ve attached pictures of the main course (venison) and dessert (chocolate mousse).Sorry but we could not recommend or return.

I’m genuinely upset that I can’t grade this experience more than 3 stars, but the experience just didn’t live up to the expectation or the price. So let’s start there, with the price. I think you are paying for the opportunity to eat at 24 floors above the city centre. And that’s ok, if the overall experience matches it. But when you’re seated in the middle of the restaurant and not at a window, you may as well be on ground floor.Yes, there are the usual things you’d expect from a high end restaurant, like storing your coat, carrying your drink for you to the table and folding your napkin when you go to the bathroom. But this same standard doesn’t follow through in all areas. There are multiple servers to the table instead of just one. The overall noise level is so loud that you have to shout at the person next to you to be heard, and the hand dryer in the toilet didn’t work. There was no effort to crumb down and the overall atmosphere was chaotic. So, am I picky? No particularly. But spending almost £1000 between 4 people you’d expect a certain level of service and food quality. So, the food… it’s good. Genuinely, the quality is pretty good. We had the chefs taster menu, but we did leave feeling hungry. The emphasis was on small plates but over six or seven courses it wasn’t enough. We’ve eaten taster menus at many other high end restaurants and Orelle doesn’t come close unfortunately. For the price I was expecting better than just ok.Considering the overall experience, it was just ok, and that’s disappointing from a price point and a service experience.I don’t want to feel like I’m in a canteen when paying almost £250 per head, and I don’t want to feel like a cheeky Nando’s after eating a tasting menu. You will get more for your money at Adam’s and at the Ivy and at many other similarly priced places in Birmingham. So go for a drink on the 24th floor and see the views, but give some serious consideration as to whether you want to eat there as there is better value and experiences to be had elsewhere.

Went to Orelle to celebrate my mom's birthday and it was such a lovely treat. The service is top notch , the restaurant view is great and thw food was delicious. It is a bit on the pricey side of course , but the lunch prix fixe menu makes it more affordable (£42 for 3 courses + a drink )The highlight was the slow cooked pork belly , divine !Shame they don't serve the afternoon tea upstairs. Also , you are not guaranteed a table by the window even if you asked for it. So be mindful of that. Will come back

My first ever tasting menu experience was amazing! Staff were so helpful, and the food was phenomenal. We had the Birmingham Restaurant Festival menu, which made the tasting experience a lot more accessible. I can't wait to save up and come back!

Hello,I visited on Sunday after reading all the reviews and Orelle being highly recommended to me to visit upon my recent visit to Birmingham.I was extremely disappointed with the food and also the excuses given from the chef for the raw food we were served . Please refer to the pictures I have attached to this review.I would have preferred to discuss this privately, however after looking through your website, I haven't been able to find an suitable contact email. The restaurant/ bar itself had stunning views, however for the prices I was still required to pay, I would have expected the bare minimum of at least the waitresses aprons to have been clean.Overall extremely disappointed and out of pocket for an overpriced and undercooked meal.
