I first went to Vets for Pets (Benton Road, Newcastle) for my guinea pig Bertie that had bladder stones. He was quickly given an appointment and well treated with the appropriate tests and treatment as well as advices for his diet. Fast forward to last Monday where Bertie had to be put to sleep following further tests that showed he had kidney malformation and unfortunately couldn't be cured. I've lost a pet, a friend, but I wanted to thank the staff for always have been so kind, honest and compassionate. They accompanied us through the all process and showed incredible respect and kindness during the procedure. My kids were allowed to say goodbye to their beloved pet and today we received a print of his little paws as well as a lovely note and a card for the staff. It's not everyday that you meet people who are so genuinely kind and caring. Thank you again for everything you've done and for your support, I'm sure Bertie is popcorning free on the rainbow bridge.

I had a very mediocre experience with this vet practice. My cat has had chronic diarrhoea since I got her. All the vets did was recommend various Royal Canin foods, each time stating I could feed her it straight away without slowly introducing the new food. Every single time it made her so much worse. I had to take matters into my own hands. With a fresh, high meat diet and probiotics, she’s finally ok. Not once did the vets recommend any fibre rich foods, pumpkin, probiotics, higher meat percentage, nothing besides Royal Canin. One of the vets interrupted and talked over me constantly every time I saw them. Overall not a good experience, lots of wasted visits and money, constant stress, I’ve since switched vets and had a much better experience

I really like this place. Staff and Vet are friendly and knowledgeable. The place is clean and spacious, which means it's easy to have a seat without squashing in between other people.Right outside, there are two long stretches of green to walk your dog, and there's a small parking lot to park.

What an absolute shambles of a vet practice - AVOID! Taking my cat here has caused huge amounts of unnecessary pain, distress and exorbitant fees, which all could have been avoided had I just gone to another vets. Mille Archibald did not inform me that she broke the canine tooth that she was extracting (nor that a root tip could have been left in situ) until the gum flap had necrotised and dehisced 7 days after the procedure - this goes against RCVS policy. The practice lied to me twice about having x-ray machines, again going against RCVS policy. They failed to pick up a secondary infection on 3 separate occasions. They did not refer me to a place with an x-ray machine on the first two times that I requested, which goes against RCVS policy. When I complained about this, they closed ranks and lied to me about what had happened to cover their own backs so they didn’t have to refund me for poor service. Absolute despicable behaviour and am complaining to RCVS and VCMS about this.

Effy takes such good care of our hamster Pebble at every visit. Highly recommend this practice.

The staff has been ever so helpful and reassuring at every visit, and especially caring with our cat who’s had to have dental surgery over two appointments under general anaesthetic. They‘ve all been very informative and good at explaining everything about the procedure and aftercare. In addition, they’ve dealt with claiming our money back from our insurance very quickly and swiftly. All in all we’ve been very satisfied with our experience at Vets for Pets of Newcastle and I want to say a big ‘Thank You’ for everything!

Our vet is always so positive and optimistic about our senior dog - and not dismissing her just because she is old. We always feel seen and heard and comforted. Thank you so much

I have recently changed vets so this was my first visit and I couldn’t be happier that we have moved to clearly such an excellent vets! The reception staff were fantastic, really friendly, knowledgable and gave me lots of information. The vet nurse I saw for my dog to have health check before getting spayed (unfortunately I’ve forgotten her name!) was also very knowledgeable. She was friendly and professional, very thorough in the health check and took the time to answer all my questions. My dog is really nervous in the vets and the staff were all so calm and kind with her she was much more relaxed than at our previous vet.

Brilliant vets and they don't pull your eyes out in price. I never worry about cost with this place. Very friendly and they take their time to answer any questions and offer good advice without rushing you out .

The two girls on reception were SO lovely, they had so much time for me and were kind and I am genuinely at ease (as much as I can be) knowing that when Frank has surgery those two will be at work. Such lively people. Thank you for being so awesome and nice xxx
