The pub is part of Greene King chain. The food was of excellent quality and quantity at a reasonable price. Service from very friendly, courteous and efficient staff. What let it down were the gent’s loos ! Both cubicles were too small to get into ; so cramped. The loo holders were too big for it and in the wrong position. The gents near the pool table did not have a light working in the cubicle so when you closed the door then total darkness! Both loos were dirty . The whole pub is in need of redecoration.I left disappointed hence a 3 out of 5 score. I hope to write to Greene King Head Office about it as something needs to be done to make this pub better.

I liked the place. It's huge. Lots of seating- indoor as well as outdoor. There is a beer garden at the back of the pub- again with lots of seating. And there are heaters there, so you can sit comfortably outside without feeling too cold.Prices are not low- but it's pretty much the standard price of pubs in Oxford.Portions are large. I tried their squid starter, scampi and chips and liked it. Their mulled wine is great.Service is a little slow. But then I guess it's fine- I had time to spare and wasn't in a rush. The best part is that it's not loud like the pubs in city centre. You can actually sit down and have a conversation instead of needing to scream or strain your ears.Note that they don't do takeaways.

Welcoming staff at a large and cozy pub. Most of the food we tried was great and the staff did well to cater to allergies, both times we visited. There's a large selection of drinks and they also show the football!

I would have loved to have said my experience here was good. The atmosphere was off. There were two different songs playing constantly throughout my time here. The bar staff also were not welcoming at all, with the whole experience leaving me wanting more. Safe to say I would not recommend.

Called in at short notice and the lovely staff found us a table in the bar...Fantastic roast.... Both had the veggie option (beetroot, sweet potato and butternut squash pie).

I didn't have food, probably ok for beer... but horrible cocktail drinks they just mixed on a whim, put loads of sugar, and almost no alcohol. Person serving tried to smile but couldn't hide the disdain to serve cocktails instead of easy beers. Overall, it's not a good experience...

I had a lovely visit here today. This pub has had a huge refurbishment and now has beautiful outdoor seating area too complete with a huge screen for all your favourite sporting events.I had the mixed grill which was perfectly cooked by trainee chef Chris who also covered table service. He did an excellent job! There is also a good selection of dining options for children and food is served from 12.00pm to 9.00pm daily. It was so good to see bar staff member Jenny and Landlady Ashleigh who provided a warm, friendly and welcoming service in such a relaxing and cosy environment. There is ample free parking available at the rear next to the garden. Disabled parking spaces are adequate and easily accessible. There is also a bus stop directly in front that takes you straight to the city centre.

Nice enough pretty generic pub with sports and all that, and a good selection of beers. The food (beef & ale pie) was wonderful!
