Threave Castle Car Park
A great walk around the site, past the castle (which frustratingly had been closed to public access for a while now). Could see the peregrine that has nested in the castle.Further down the river is the hides where you can see ospreys needing with possibly 4 chick's this year.

Can’t go in, but it’s a beautiful area with a great walking trail that is wide and flat.

Had a walk to visit the castle. Which was closed but the walk around the trail was good for a leg stretch. Roughly around 30 minutes to walk around taking in views of the castle. Over the river. Lots of path works with heavy machinery when we went so it was a bit muddy. Bird watching hides around the reserves too. Ospreys visit each year returning about March time.

Only 4 stars as Castle closed.Great parking nice walk around nature reserve with plenty of bird hides.Path Great for prams.Nice view of castle and birds of pray from 1 of the hides.

Was closed when we went there even the toilets were locked up, but the path down wide enough for a wheelchair, beautiful views well worth the long walk!

Free car park. Toilets were closed. Great for seeing wildlife…. We saw 2 Bambi deers.

Be warned, in order to see this beautiful piece of history, there is a mile hike and a short boat ride.
