The Craft Shed

I've visited the craft shed many times over the years with my children and have had a lovely experience every time. As an anxious person, it's invaluable to have found somewhere so friendly and relaxed where I can take the children for an afternoon out and not worry about a thing. The prices are clear and there are activities for all budgets so no nasty surprises. The room is airy and roomy and there is no pressure or rush to finish and leave.From the first visit, I was made to feel at ease and enjoyed a drink in peace while the children happily crafted away. On subsequent visits I've been so impressed, as have my children, at how the owners remember my children's names and their creations. They always take the time to praise the children's efforts and have friendly chats with all who come in. It really does feel like a home from home and that you are with friends. As an added bonus, no tidying up either! Would recommend to all!

Visited this little treasure today, nicely hidden out from the main shopping madness in Basildon Town.Claire was very attentive and friendly and explained the entire procedure to us all. There was plenty for our two kids (9 and 5) to do... Although it appeared the wife was the more excited to be painting a gnome model!!We spent around 2.5 hours inside which appeared to fly past! Our pottery models have now been sent off to the kiln for the final stages before we collect them again next week!Great little venue for the kids (and parents). They serve coffee, drinks and snacks too.Be sure to visit at least once and entertain the kids!

What a lovely little gem of a place! Found it on Google while I was searching for a similar establishment that I remember seeing in Leigh-On-Sea. Glad we booked a table in advance because every seat was full by 11am Saturday morning when myself and two little ones visited. The concept is simple, pick your piece of pottery, pull up a chair and off you go. The chap running it was very friendly and helpful and the shop itself is clean and bright and centrally located, so easy to find. Little ones were a bit disappointed they couldn’t take their creations away on the day but it gives us an excuse to pop back and paint some more. Good range of drinks and snacks available but there’s plenty of cafes around and the owner was fine with us bringing food in with us. Brilliant way to keep the kids amused for a few hours, can’t wait to go again. Highly recommended

Came to the craft shed today for my nan's birthday. It's such a lovely little place with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and the lady who runs it is amazing! she put a banner up and made a little sign for my nan, got her a little gluten free treat, added a candle and sang happy birthday to her. None of which was asked for or expected, it made my nan so happy and was such a kind, thoughtful gesture. We all had a great time painting and I can't wait to see our little creations once they've been fired. I would 100% recommend this place whether you want to craft or just have a coffee. We will definetly be back.

Absolutely love it at The Craft Shed - always a warm welcome from Clare and the team, we love pottery painting and thoroughly enjoy the milkshakes which they can make dairy free - after being without them for so many years it's such a treat. Great place for kids and adults alike - if you've not been yet you really should!

My daughter had a make your own teddy party at the craft shed today, her friends and her had an amazing time they all loved that they got to make a teddy and take it home. Ian was an amzaing host really friendly entertained all the children very organised it was really good party big thank you all at the craft shed for making the my daughetr party a really good day She had an amazing time thank you

We absolutely love the craft Shed. We go regularly and are so glad it's open properly again. For us going to the craft Shed is a family event that we look forward too every week. Even when we don't go to paint we love to pop in for a drink and a chat with Ian and Clare as they are very friendly and welcoming.

We love the craft shed! We book lots of their school holiday activities and they are always lots of fun. The owners Clare and Ian are really friendly and welcoming. They also serve a wide range of hot and cold drinks.
